Demonstrated competence on the operation of both kilns required.\nJob Responsibilities\nMust assist in any Cement Plant repair as directed and in refractory and repair of kiln system\nMust be able to read and interpret instrument loop diagrams, sketches and manufacturer's specifications, make simple chemical and physical control tests, and prepare clear written reports, as required, on all phases of the operations\nMust be able to start up and shut down the plant and make minor repairs and adjustments to the electrical equipment\nMust understand and operate the console equipment including CRT's, communication equipment, recorders, printers, keyboards and other control instruments used in the Cement Plant\nMust be familiar with the principles of electrical and pneumatic instrumentation in order to make the necessary adjustments to operate and make minor repairs on these instruments\nMust have thorough knowledge of mechanics in order to quickly diagnose problems and take necessary action, including emergency repairs\nMust perform such clean-up work as is necessary to keep his/her equipment and working areas clean, orderly, and safe\nMust comply with company safety rules and regulations and wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds\nSafety equipment means clothing and apparatus including, but not limited to hardhat, safety glasses, ear protection, safety shoes, back support belts, gloves and respirators\nQualifications\nHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED)\nLanguage Skills: Commensurate with education\nMathematical Skills: Commensurate with education, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, area and volume.\nReasoning Skills: Able to recognize potentially hazardous situations, understand instructions given by supervisor, possess common sense\n2 years in a similar industry preferred\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nAbility to accurately read and use a ruler/tape measure\nWorking Conditions\nOccasional exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise, and working outdoors\nMust wear protective equipment while at the location\nPhysical Requirements\nRequires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree\nExerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.\nJob involves sitting most of the time, but also involves walking or standing for brief periods of time\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees/visitors \nLegal Notices\nCEMEX is an EEO/AA (equal opportunity/affirmative action) institution and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, religious creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, ancestry, age, physical or mental disability, medical condition, genetic information, marital or familial status, military or veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by under federal, state or local law in the programs or activities which it operates.\nCEMEX will consider for employment qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with all local, state and federal laws.\nCEMEX is an E-Verify participating employer.\nArizona Smoke-Free Act.
