Apply today!\nJob Details\nSummary:\nThe AI & Automation Operational Engineer is a hands-on technical role responsible for designing, developing, deploying, supporting, and optimizing enterprise automation solutions. This role requires deep expertise in Automation Anywhere (mandatory), Python, and Power Apps, along with broader experience in RPA, AI-enabled workflows, intelligent document processing, APIs, workflow orchestration, and enterprise systems integration.\nThe AI & Automation Operational Engineer-II will partner with Automation leadership, Architects, Business Analysts, Platform teams, and business stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable automation solutions from design through production support. In addition to hands-on engineering, this position provides technical guidance, mentoring, and best practices to other developers, while driving continuous improvement, modernization, and practical adoption of emerging AI and automation capabilities.\nPrimary Duties and Responsibilities:\nAutomation Design, Development, and Support\nDesign, develop, test, deploy, support, and optimize automation solutions using Automation Anywhere, Python, Power Apps, and related technologies.\nDeliver scalable, secure, resilient solutions aligned with enterprise standards, architecture, and guardrails.\nContribute across the full automation lifecycle, including design, build, testing, deployment, hypercare, and production support.\nTroubleshoot complex issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable fixes.\nMaintain high production reliability and resolve issues within business-prioritized timelines.\nCreate reusable components, technical documentation, and development standards to improve maintainability and efficiency.\nAI and Intelligent Automation\nApply AI, intelligent document processing, generative AI, machine learning, and agentic automation where appropriate to improve business outcomes.\nSupport POCs, pilots, and modernization initiatives involving advanced automation capabilities.\nPartner with Architects and technical teams to integrate emerging technologies into enterprise workflows.\nTechnical Leadership\nProvide technical guidance, mentoring, and support to developers across automation design, coding, troubleshooting, and platform usage.\nConduct code reviews and promote quality, scalability, maintainability, and engineering consistency.\nShare best practices and support team capability growth across automation technologies.\nDelivery, Quality, and Operational Excellence\nSupport end-to-end project delivery to ensure technical quality, business alignment, and timely execution.\nCollaborate with Business Analysts, Architects, Developers, and Platform teams to deliver reliable solutions.\nEnsure strong testing practices including unit, integration, regression, and deployment validation.\nEstablish and support monitoring, support, and maintenance processes to reduce downtime and improve business continuity.\nIdentify and implement process, tooling, and workflow improvements.\nCollaboration and Communication\nWork closely with technical leaders and stakeholders to align automation work with business priorities and platform standards.\nCollaborate across enterprise teams including SAP, Salesforce, Esker, Command Center, and other business functions.\nClearly communicate technical solutions, risks, dependencies, and progress to technical and non-technical audiences. \nInnovation and Continuous Improvement\nStay current with automation, AI, workflow, and integration trends and best practices.\nContribute to modernization, reusable assets, standards, playbooks, and process improvements.\nPromote innovation, adaptability, and responsible experimentation with new technologies.\nExperience and Educational Requirements:\n6-8 years of experience in automation development, software engineering, or intelligent automation delivery.\nStrong hands-on experience with Automation Anywhere (required), Python, and Power Apps.\nProven experience designing, developing, deploying, and supporting enterprise automation solutions.\nExperience with AI-enabled automation, APIs, workflow technologies, and enterprise integration.\nDemonstrated ability to provide technical leadership while remaining hands-on.\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field preferred.\nMinimum Skills, Knowledge, and Ability Requirements:\nExpert-level hands-on skills in Automation Anywhere; strong experience in Python and Power Apps.\nStrong knowledge of RPA, AI-enabled automation, workflow technologies, APIs, and enterprise architecture.\nExcellent troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to mentor peers and lead through technical expertise and influence.\nStrong communication and collaboration skills across business and technical teams.\nStrong focus on quality, scalability, supportability, and operational readiness.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality solutions in complex enterprise environments.\nWhat Cencora offers\nWe provide compensation, benefits, and resources that enable a highly inclusive culture and support our team members’ ability to live with purpose every day.
