Apply today!\nJob Details\nWe are seeking an experienced Appian Architect (Agentic & AI) to join our organizations a senior technical leader driving the design and implementation of next-generation AI-powered process automation solutions. This role combines deep expertise in the Appian platform with advanced knowledge of agentic AI, large language models (LLMs), and intelligent automation patterns.\nThe Appian Architect will lead end-to-end architecture for complex workflow, decisioning, and case-management solutions, with emphasis on agentic orchestration where multiple Agents collaborate to perform sophisticated business tasks.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDefine target-state architecture for complex Appian solutions integrating processes, RPA, APIs, events, and agentic AI.\nDesign multi-agent AI workflows with human-in-the-loop controls for accuracy, compliance, and exception management.\nArchitect and govern autonomous agents using Appian Agent Studio, ensuring auditability and controlled execution.\nTranslate business outcomes into Appian + AI solution roadmaps, governance models, and guardrail frameworks.\nEstablish AI governance covering agent authorization, task routing, approvals, and audit trails.\nImplement monitoring and feedback loops to continuously improve agent and model performance.\nSet up observability for agent behavior, LLM performance, latency, cost efficiency, and compliance metrics.\nEnsure alignment with data governance, security, and regulatory requirements (auditability, explainability, PII handling).\nProvide end-to-end technical leadership across architecture, delivery, performance tuning, and production support.\nReview and approve designs, integrations, data models, and security frameworks for Appian + AI components.\nLead development teams across Appian Sites, Records, Interfaces, Data Fabric, Agent Studio, AI, and RPA.\nDeliver scalable, secure, and high-quality solutions meeting business and SLA expectations.\n.\nWork Experience:\n11+ years of IT experience in enterprise application design, development, and delivery.\n7-8 years of hands-on Appian delivery experience in architect/lead roles across large-scale implementations.\n3-4 years of experience designing and implementing AI/ML/LLM or generative AI solutions within enterprise workflows.\nAdvanced expertise in Appian components: Process Models, Records, Sites, Interfaces, Data Fabric, Processes Portal, Appian RPA, and AI capabilities (Generative AI, AI Document Center, Private LLM).\nPractical experience with Appian Agent Studio (beta or GA) for designing, building, and deploying autonomous agents.\nStrong understanding of Appian cloud deployment, scalability, and performance optimization patterns.\nHands-on experience integrating LLM and generative AI services (Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, Google Vertex AI, on-prem LLMs) into enterprise processes.\nExperience architecting multi-agent and agentic automation workflows for complex, multi-step business tasks.\nSolid knowledge of prompt engineering, prompt optimization, and responsible AI practices (hallucination mitigation, bias control, guardrails).\nExperience working with Azure cloud services.\nStrong database design skills and SQL proficiency.\nGood to Have:\nStrong proficiency in Python or similar programming languages.\nExperience with version control tools (Git/GitHub) and CI/CD pipelines.\nFamiliarity with application performance monitoring and observability tools.\nWorking knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and DevOps practices.\nUnderstanding of major compliance frameworks (SOX, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, GDPR, FedRAMP) and their impact on system design.\nKnowledge of business process optimization, intelligent automation ROI, and enterprise process mining.\nHands-on experience with RPA technologies such as UiPath or Blue Prism.\nEducational Requirements:\nBachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or any other related discipline or equivalent related experience.\nPreferred Certifications:\nAppian Advanced Developer or Lead Certification (or equivalent Level 2+) -Mandatory.\nAdvanced professional certifications in related areas preferred (cloud platforms, AI/ML, enterprise architecture).\nSkills & Knowledge:\nBehavioral Skills:\nCollaboration\nCreativity & Innovation\nDecision Making\nPlanning\nPresentation Skills\nRisk-taking\nTechnical Skills:\nCloud Architecture\nData Architecture & Governance\nIntegration Testing and Validation\nOperating Systems\nProgramming and Development\nApplication Architecture\nSoftware Development Life Cycle (SDLC)\nTools Knowledge:\nArchitecture Framework tools\nCloud Computing Tools (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)\nIntegration and Deployment tools (Jenkins, Copado, Azure DevOps)\nProgramming and Development and Development Languages\nWhat Cencora offers\nBenefit offerings outside the US may vary by country and will be aligned to local market practice.
