Apply today!\nJob Details\nJob Scope\nThis role is in support of Cencora's wholesale distribution services in Europe operating through our Alliance Healthcare business\nWe have an exciting opportunity for a Driver Team Manager to join the team at Alliance Healthcare UK's new, next-generation Central Logistics Centre (CLC) in Birmingham. You will play a pivotal in this world-class, game-changing facility. Designed with advanced automation and cutting-edge robotics, the CLC is set to redefine how Alliance Healthcare manages and delivers medical, health and beauty products to our customers across the UK.\nLocation: Birmingham, B24 8TG\nSalary: Circa £39,000 per annum (depending on experience)\nShift: 10 am - 6 pm\nHours: 40 hours per week.\nPrincipal Accountabilities\nTeam Leadership\nLead, develop and motivate the transport team, ensuring high levels of engagement, performance, inclusion and accountability.\nManage staffing and driver resource planning to maintain operational continuity, provide performance feedback, and support ongoing development.\nTransport Operations & Compliance\nOversee the safe, efficient and compliant operation of the transport function, including a mixed fleet of LGVs and LCVs across multiple locations.\nEnsure full compliance with transport legislation, operator licence requirements, driver hours regulations, tachograph rules, company policies and audit standards.\nManage temperature-controlled distribution activities, ensuring all regulatory, quality and operational requirements are met.\nFleet & Performance Management\nEnsure fleet maintenance, vehicle records, compliance documentation and KPI reporting are completed accurately and within required timescales.\nMonitor operational performance and implement corrective actions to address compliance, service or efficiency issues.\nCustomer Service & Stakeholder Management\nDeliver high levels of customer service by ensuring transport activities meet agreed service standards and customer expectations.\nBuild effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, resolving operational issues and driving service improvements.\nHealth, Safety & Continuous Improvement\nLead the transport Health & Safety agenda, promoting a strong safety culture through training, monitoring, risk assessment and compliance reviews.\nIdentify and implement opportunities to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs and enhance transport performance through continuous improvement initiatives.\nBudget & Operational Leadership\nManage transport operating costs within budget while maintaining service, safety and compliance standards.\nAct as the site transport lead, taking ownership of day-to-day operations and making informed decisions to ensure effective business performance.\n.\nSkills & Experience Required\nProven experience managing transport operations, including remote teams and mixed LGV/LCV fleets.\nStrong knowledge of UK transport legislation, driver and vehicle compliance, health & safety, and regulated operating environments.\nExperience leading compliant, temperature-controlled transport and logistics operations, with responsibility for site transport performance.\nDemonstrated ability to drive operational efficiency, continuous improvement, and achievement of transport KPIs and service standards.\nEffective leadership skills with experience developing teams, conducting performance reviews, and fostering a positive safety culture.\nStrong understanding of transport planning, fleet management, SOPs, and contractual requirements within a logistics environment.\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across internal and external partners.\nAble to prioritise workloads, make sound decisions under pressure, and consistently deliver results to tight deadlines.\nProficient in Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.\nTransport Manager CPC qualified, or willing to work towards achieving the qualification\nBenefits:\nContributory Pension Scheme\nHealthcare\nPerks at Work (Discounts on top brands)\nEmployee Assistance Programme\n28 days’ holiday, increasing with service length\nFree Parking\nWhat Cencora offers\nBenefit offerings outside the US may vary by country and will be aligned to local market practice.
