This role is responsible for accurately picking and assembling customer orders using handheld scanning technology, ensuring products are handled safely and efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality, compliance, and customer service. You will play an important role in supporting the smooth operation of our warehouse and distribution network.\nResponsibilities\nAccurately pick and assemble customer orders using a handheld scanner.\nEnsure products are selected, packed, and processed in line with operational procedures.\nMove between workstations and warehouse areas as required to support operational demands.\nResolve stock exceptions by following established processes to ensure orders are fulfilled correctly.\nHandle products with care to minimise damage and maintain product integrity.\nReport damaged stock, picking errors, or discrepancies promptly to the Team Leader or Supervisor.\nMaintain high housekeeping standards and keep work areas clean and organised.\nComply with all health and safety requirements and wear PPE as required.\nSkills and Knowledge\nExcellent customer service focus.\nGood numeracy skills and attention to detail.\nStrong time management and organisational skills.\nAbility to work accurately in a fast-paced warehouse environment.\nGood verbal communication skills.\nAbility to follow procedures and work instructions.\nCommitment to health, safety, and quality standards.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team.\nDesirable\nPrevious experience working in a warehouse or distribution environment.\nExperience using handheld scanners or warehouse technology.\nKnowledge of order picking and stock control processes.\nExperience working to productivity and accuracy targets.\nUnderstanding of Good Distribution Practice (GDP) standards.\nExperience handling pharmaceutical or healthcare products.\nFamiliarity with warehouse health and safety procedures.\nExperience working night shifts or within a shift-based operation.\nBenefits\nCompetitive hourly rate of £13.07 plus shift allowances and night premiums.\nComprehensive training and onboarding support.\nOpportunities for career development and progression.\nPension scheme.\nEmployee assistance programme.\nGenerous holiday entitlement.\nEmployee discounts and wellbeing initiatives.\nSupportive and collaborative working environment.\n.\nHigh School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience required.Less than 2 years of experience in warehouse support, distribution operations, shipping, receiving, inventory control, material handling, or a related field required.\nCertified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), or equivalent certification preferred.\nKnowledge in warehouse operations processes, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, staging, and shipping.\nKnowledge in inventory control principles, stock movement tracking, and material traceability requirements.\nKnowledge in temperature-controlled handling and cold chain support requirements for sensitive products and materials.\nKnowledge in packaging materials, reusable shipping assets, and replenishment practices within warehouse operations.\nKnowledge in shipment documentation, operational recordkeeping, and transaction processing requirements.\nKnowledge in safe material handling practices and the use of warehouse equipment and tools.\nAbility to follow established warehouse procedures and standardized work instructions.\nAbility to maintain accurate records and update operational information in warehouse systems and logs.\nAbility to identify inventory, packaging, shipment, and material handling exceptions for further action.\nAbility to support timely and accurate order preparation and material movement activities.\nAbility to manage multiple routine tasks across warehouse workflows while maintaining accuracy.\nAbility to work with temperature-sensitive materials in line with defined handling requirements.\nWhat Cencora offers\nBenefit offerings outside the US may vary by country and will be aligned to local market practice.
