As a Senior Software Engineer, you will focus on delivering high-quality, secure, and scalable software solutions while contributing to system architecture, engineering best practices, and continuous platform improvement.\n\nYou will work across the full software development lifecycle, collaborating with cross functional teams to build reliable APIs, background processing systems, and data driven applications that support global customers.\n\nJob Responsibilities\n\nEssential Functions:\n\nCollaborate with software engineers, architects, product managers, and QA teams to design, build, and maintain scalable applications\nAnalyse business and technical requirements to determine operational feasibility and propose effective software solutions\nDesign, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Ruby on Rails\nWrite clean, maintainable, and testable code following Test-Driven Development (TDD) principles\nBuild and maintain RESTful APIs with a strong focus on performance, reliability, and extensibility.\nContribute to system architecture and technical design, including modular design and scalable service patterns\nDevelop and execute automated tests including unit, integration, and system level tests\nEnsure applications meet security, performance, and reliability standards\nFollow and help evolve company software development standards and best practices\nDevelop and maintain technical specifications and supporting documentation\nEstimate development tasks based on business requirements, timelines, and technical constraints.\nReview, refactor, and optimize code to improve quality, performance, and maintainability\nValidate implementations to ensure they meet functional and non-functional requirements\nImplement and promote observability practices, including logging, monitoring, and production diagnostics\nTroubleshoot and resolve software issues across development and production environments\nAbility to use effective AI prompts for code generation, testing, debugging, and documentation support\nMentor and support junior developers through code reviews and technical guidance\nEnforce and continuously improve engineering standards, code quality, and development processes\nProvide on-call or production support as required\n\nRequirements\n\nRequired Education and Experience: \n\nBachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience\n6+ years of professional experience across software definition, design, development, testing, and deployment\nStrong experience with Ruby on Rails and backend web application development\nExperience designing and maintaining RESTful APIs\nExperience working with NoSQL databases (MongoDB preferred) and data modelling concepts\nHands-on experience with background job processing frameworks (Sidekiq or equivalent)\nExperience with caching and messaging technologies such as Redis\nFamiliarity with search platforms such as Elasticsearch or similar technologies\nHands-on experience with automated testing frameworks and TDD\nExperience working in Agile/Scrum software development environments\nExperience with source control systems such as Git, including branching and merging best practices\nExposure to secure coding practices, authentication, and authorization concepts\nProficiency with AI-powered developer tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\n\nExpected Competencies\n\nDetail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills\nStrong focus on clean code, readability, and maintainability\nAbility to pay close attention to programming style and software quality\nStrong English communication skills, both written and verbal\nAbility to mentor and train junior engineers with patience and measurable outcomes\nOwnership mindset and ability to work independently on complex problems\n\nWork Timings\n\nMonday through Friday, with work hours aligned to ensure healthy overlap between India and US teams to support effective collaboration.
