To learn more, please see https://www.cengagegroup.com/about/inclusion-and-diversity/.\nWhat you'll do here:\nAs a valued member of the distribution team, the primary objective for this position is to safely and accurately navigate powered industrial trucks (PIT) to aid in picking and returning inventory to and from shelving racks at heights up to 40 feet.\nYou will also be responsible for safely transporting inventory from one point to another using the vital powered industrial truck(s). This position requires physical fitness to continuously reach for product followed by lifting, pushing, pulling and stacking product on pallets at a maximum of 40 feet.\nEssential Duties/Responsibilities:\nYou will use appropriate PIT to unload trailers on receiving dock in a safe manner.\n\nUse radio frequency (RF) equipment to fill full-case orders.\n\nMemorize and apply phonetic alphabet to accurately use voice directed picking system.\n\nUse sight recognition and matching of alpha and numeric listings to ensure accurate inventory and order placement.\n\nYou will replenish full-cases to picking shelves.\n\nConduct product moves as directed.\n\nYou will accurately follow all pallet-layer configurations.\n\nEnsure pallets are safely/accurately stacked to full capacity.\n\nUse fall protection/safety harnesses in compliance with company and OSHA regulations.\n\nYou will perform consistent counting of product and pallets.\n\nContinuously lift (including overhead), push, pull, reach and stack full cases (up to 50 lbs) while maintaining efficiency levels at or above standard.\n\nBe committed to the team effort.\n\nYou will also have other duties as requested.\n\nTypes of Equipment used:\nTurret stock picker, cherry picker/order picker, runner, reach truck, RC truck, pallet jack\n\nSkills/Knowledge/Experience:\nRequired:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\n\nAt least 18 years of age.\n\nSkilled in site recognition/matching of numeric and alpha groupings.\n\nAble to comprehend simple instructions.\n\nYou should have the skills to write legibly.\n\nYou will have the opportunity to exhibit your addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division skills.\n\nBe flexible with work hours.\n\nBasic computer experience.\n\nStand and walk for 8-10 hours.\n\nFollow all safety practices and policies.\n\nMaintain appropriate PIT certifications.\n\nAdequate computer experience or prior RF unit experience.\n\nPreferred:\nPIT experience.\n\nRF experience.\n\nDistribution experience.\n\nCengage Group is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer. Individual base pay will vary based on work schedule, qualifications, experience, internal equity, and geographic location.
