What you'll do here:

As an Enterprise IT SAP Senior Technical Program Manager at Cengage, you will have the outstanding opportunity to lead exceptionally ambitious and complex technical initiatives! You will:

  • Lead end-to-end planning and execution of large-scale SAP programs, including SAP S/4HANA implementations and transformation initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain the coordinated program plan, achievements, critical path, dependencies, resource requirements, and detailed delivery schedules.
  • Collaborate with the Project Board, executive sponsors, business leaders, technology teams, and implementation partners to develop and sustain the overall delivery plan.
  • Manage program financials, including budgets, forecasts, actuals, vendor spend, and financial reporting.
  • Manage several SAP functional and technical workstreams simultaneously while actively overseeing cross-functional dependencies.
  • Manage external vendors and systems integrators, including deliverables, achievements, performance, dependencies, and customer concerns.
  • Drive day-to-day program execution, proactively identifying delivery risks and removing barriers to progress.
  • Provide clear and concise reporting on program health, achievements, financials, risks, issues, dependencies, and decisions required.
  • Apply Smartsheet as the primary program management tool, with Jira supporting Agile delivery and workstream execution.

Abilities you will require here:

To successfully implement and manage our world-class projects, you will need:

  • More than 10 years of increasingly responsible project and program management experience, including large-scale enterprise technology initiatives.
  • Established experience coordinating complex programs that include several business, functional, and technical workstreams.
  • SAP implementation or transformation experience strongly preferred, with SAP S/4HANA experience highly desirable.
  • Strong technical understanding with the ability to effectively engage architecture, integration, data, infrastructure, security, and application teams.
  • Proven hands-on experience managing scope, schedules, budgets, risks, dependencies, and delivery teams.
  • Experience managing SAP implementation partners, systems integrators, external vendors, and internal technical teams.
  • Extensive experience in financial oversight, involving budget planning, projections, and managing vendor payments.
  • Strong executive communication, collaborator management, facilitation, and escalation-management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across diverse business, product, and technology organizations.
  • Experience with Waterfall, Agile, and hybrid delivery methodologies.
  • Proficiency with Smartsheet and Jira.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Proven track record of leading complex enterprise infrastructure implementations and migrations.
  • Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM), change management, and operational transition.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Agile, Scrum, or similar certification.

The full base pay range has been provided for this position. Individual base pay will vary based on work schedule, qualifications, experience, internal equity, and geographic location. Sales roles often incorporate a significant incentive compensation program beyond this base pay range.

In this position, you will be eligible to participate in the company’s discretionary incentive bonus program. This position's bonus target amount, which is not guaranteed and is dependent on individual performance and overall company results among other factors, is provided below.
