This role requires deep technical expertise in Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), threat hunting, Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), firewall security, endpoint and server protection, and vulnerability management programs.\n\nWhat you’ll do:\nIdentify, reduce, and mitigate cyber risk across the organization.\nLeverage strong analytical skills, operational security expertise, and hands-on technical capabilities to enhance the organization's security posture, improve detection and response capabilities, and support the continuous maturation of cybersecurity controls and processes.\nWork closely with Information Technology teams, business stakeholders, third-party vendors, and external partners.\nBuild trusted relationships and collaborate across the organization to deliver security initiatives, manage risk, support regulatory and compliance requirements, and advance the strategic objectives of the Cyber Security Operations department.\nCommunicate technical risks and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences, while driving security outcomes that enable and protect the business.\n\nWho you are:\nOur ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:\nLegally authorized to work in Canada.\nMinimum 12 years of experience in Cyber security.\nBachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems Management.\nExpertise in the following platforms:Vulnerability Management\nThreat Hunting\nSIEM Platforms (Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, QRadar, LogRhythm, etc.)\nFirewall Management\nEndpoint Detection and Response (EDR)\nServer Security and Hardening\nSecurity Incident Response\nSecurity Risk Assessments\nAlert Triage and Investigation\n\nNote: The application deadline for this position is 11:59 PM MT November 6, 2026.\n\nCenovus was ranked one of Canada’s Best Employers in 2025.
