The role manages the engineering team responsible for firewall infrastructure, hardware lifecycle management, software currency, platform capacity, operational support, monitoring, resiliency, and continuous improvement initiatives.\nThe Manager, Firewall Security Engineering is accountable for the operational health, supportability, lifecycle management, and scalability of the firewall ecosystem. The role does not own firewall policy governance, firewall rule implementation, or security architecture decisions except where infrastructure requirements affect platform availability, performance, or supportability.\nKey Details: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future. Sponsorship and future sponsorship are not available for this opportunity, including employment-based visa types H-1B, L-1, O-1, H-1B1, F-1, J -1, OPT, or CPT.\nTeam Leadership:\nLead a team of firewall infrastructure engineers.\nEstablish priorities, sprint objectives, and operational work plans.\nConduct performance management, career development, coaching, and mentoring.\nDevelop succession plans and reduce key-person dependency risks.\nBuild a sustainable operating model that distributes ownership across the team. \nOperational Accountability:\nEnsure reliable operation of enterprise firewall infrastructure and supporting services.\nMaintain operational readiness, support models, escalation paths, and runbooks.\nManage engineering backlogs and technical debt initiatives.\nMonitor platform health, performance, availability, and operational metrics.\nDrive consistent execution of firewall engineering processes and standards.\nEnsure operational support requirements are maintained across all firewall platforms. \nCapability Management:\nAdvance firewall infrastructure capabilities across resiliency, scalability, observability, and automation.\nPartner with Capability Stewards to develop multi-year technology and lifecycle roadmaps.\nPrioritize initiatives based on risk reduction, operational efficiency, capacity requirements, and business value.\nEnsure new capabilities transition successfully into production operations. \nFirewall Infrastructure Ownership:\nProvide operational leadership for technologies and capabilities including:\nEnterprise Firewall Platforms. \nFirewall Hardware Lifecycle Management. \nFirewall Software and Code Upgrades. \nCapacity Planning and Resource Forecasting.\nHigh Availability and Resiliency Architecture. \nDisaster Recovery and Recovery Validation. \nFirewall Performance Monitoring. \nFirewall Health Reporting. \nPlatform Monitoring and Alerting. \nAsset Inventory and Technology Currency. \nInfrastructure Automation and Orchestration. \nSupport Model and Escalation Management. \nVendor Hardware Maintenance Coordination. \nFirewall Data Center and Cloud Infrastructure Connectivity.\nLifecycle and Capacity Management:\nDevelop and maintain multi-year firewall hardware refresh strategies.\nManage firewall technology currency and end-of-life/end-of-support planning.\nForecast platform growth and future capacity requirements.\nEstablish capacity thresholds and expansion triggers.\nEnsure infrastructure investments are aligned with future business demand.\nTrack capacity utilization and provide executive reporting on lifecycle and expansion requirements. \nProgram and Project Execution:\nLead execution of firewall infrastructure projects and strategic initiatives.\nCoordinate resources, timelines, dependencies, and stakeholder communications.\nPartner with architecture, network engineering, cloud engineering, security operations, and infrastructure teams.\nEnsure projects achieve measurable business and operational outcomes. \nGovernance and Risk Management:\nTrack infrastructure risks and control effectiveness.\nEscalate issues requiring risk acceptance or executive decisions.\nSupport audit, compliance, and control validation activities.\nMaintain documented standards, procedures, and engineering practices.\nEnsure lifecycle risks and supportability risks remain visible and actively managed. \nVendor and Service Provider Management:\nManage relationships with firewall vendors and service providers.\nHold vendors accountable to contracted deliverables and service-level commitments.\nReview support effectiveness, hardware roadmaps, and maintenance requirements.\nDrive continuous improvement through vendor partnerships.\nParticipate in platform selection, renewal, and lifecycle planning activities. \nPerforms other duties as assigned.\nComplies with all policies and standards.\nEducation/Experience: Requires a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of related experience.\nOr equivalent experience acquired through accomplishments of applicable knowledge, duties, scope and skill reflective of the level of this position.\nRequired Leadership Competencies:\nStrong people leadership and team development skills.\nExecution-focused management approach.\nAbility to balance operational support and strategic improvements.\nStrong stakeholder management and communication skills.\nExperience managing multiple concurrent security initiatives.\nRisk-based decision-making capability.\nAbility to translate technical issues into business impact discussions.\nSoft Skills:\nAbility to lead/manage others.\nCollaboration and team building skills.\nEffectively coaches and delivers constructive feedback.\nInstills commitment to organizational goals.\nAbility to communicate and make recommendations to upper management.\nEffective conflict management skills.\nDevelops and delivers effective presentations.\nDemonstrated negotiation skills.\nPay Range: $102,900.00 -
