This role serves as a hands-on technical leader, responsible for guiding development efforts, ensuring best practices, and delivering scalable, high-quality ServiceNow capabilities.\nUnlike an Architect, this role is execution-focused, with responsibility for solution implementation, team guidance, and technical quality, rather than enterprise-wide architecture ownership.\nRequirements\nLead the design and development of ServiceNow solutions across modules such as ITSM, ITOM, CSM, HRSD, or custom applications \n Translate business and functional requirements into technical solutions and platform configurations \nServe as a technical lead for development teams, providing guidance, mentorship, and code reviews \nDevelop and customize ServiceNow applications using: Business Rules, Script Includes, UI Policies, Client Scripts, Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, and Automation workflows \nSupport integration efforts with external systems via REST/SOAP APIs, MID Server, and third-party tools \nEnsure adherence to ServiceNow best practices, coding standards, and platform governance \nParticipate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, and backlog refinement \nTroubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across the platform \nCollaborate with architects and stakeholders to align solutions with overall platform strategy \nSupport testing activities, including unit testing, system testing, and deployment validation \nContribute to documentation, including technical design documents and implementation guides \nRequired Qualifications\n 5-8+ years of experience in ServiceNow development and implementation \nStrong hands-on experience with: JavaScript, Glide API, ServiceNow scripting, Core ServiceNow modules, (ITSM required; others preferred)\nExperience developing custom applications and workflows on the ServiceNow platform \nProven ability to lead development efforts or serve as a technical point of contact \nExperience with integrations (REST, SOAP, APIs, MID Server) \nFamiliarity with Agile development methodologies \nStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment \nExcellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders \nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with additional ServiceNow modules such as: ITOM, CSM, HRSD, SecOps, GRC \nExperience in federal or public sector environments \nFamiliarity with platform upgrades, releases, and instance management \nExposure to DevOps/DevSecOps practices within ServiceNow delivery \nExperience mentoring junior developers or leading small teams \nCertifications\nServiceNow Certified System Administrator (required) \nServiceNow Certified application Developer (preferred) \nAdditional ServiceNow certifications (e.g., ITSM, ITOM, CSM) are a plus \nClearance Requirements\nU.S. Citizenship required \nAbility to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance \nEducation\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)\nWork Conditions\nLocation: Hybrid -
