Perform inspections of vessels for repair & maintenance standards and procedures. Keep tugs and barges in compliance with all regulatory agencies. Keep accurate records of all maintenance preformed using company program.\nResponsibilities\nSchedule, coordinate, and perform flow of work based on customer orders, establish priorities and availability of personnel, equipment, and resources.\nKeep records of maintenance performed, hours used, fuel burned, and report to different funding agencies.\nSchedule routine maintenance of tugs and barges.\nManage oil analysis program.\nCoordinate the purchasing of parts and services for repair and maintenance projects.\nPerform inspections of vessels for repair & maintenance standards, regulatory Compliance and AWO RCP program.\nCompile and prioritize worklists for each vessel for both routine and major maintenance (drydock periods).\nTrack actual costs of repair and projects against budget.\nPerform emergency repairs on vessels as required.\nPerform in the company Spill Management team as assigned.\nPerform related duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nExperience maintaining tugs and barges.\nTwo (2) years of experience on tugs, tankers, oil barges or equivalent military experience.\nThree (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in the maritime industry.\nFour year college education in Maritime field, related studies or have (5) years of experience as engineer on tugs, or other sea going motorized vessels.\nS. Coast Guard license on a Merchant Mariner’s Document strongly preferred.\nKnowledge of oil transportation and marine industry preferred.\nKnowledge of tugs and barge maintenance systems and equipment.\nAbility to repair marine equipment on site under adverse conditions.\nAbility to work with others using courtesy, tact, and good judgment.\nMaintain the confidentiality of all sensitive communications.\nAbility to understand and execute complex oral and written instructions.\nAbility to work independently with minimal or no guidance.\nAbility to get along with office staff and vessel crewmembers.\nMust be physically fit enough to board barges and tugs at sea and in port.\nMust be able to read, speak, write, type, and understand English in person and over the telephone.\nMust be thoroughly familiar with tank barge operations, ship operations, and terminal/refinery operations.\nProficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)\nValid State drivers' license.\nValid TWIC or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.\nMust be physically fit enough to board barges and tugs at sea and in port.\nUse of Computer (Word and Excel), Copier and Fax Machine.\nFirst Aid/CPR training preferred.\nJob Condition and Environment\nCapable of making decisions and giving directions to facilitate prompt service delivery.\nRequired to work aboard boats and barges using pike poles, heavy lines, winches, mechanical tools for repairs.\nFrequently required to board tugs, barges, and ships, at dock or at anchor in all weather conditions and at all hours.\nExpected Hours of Work\nNormal office hours are 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.\nTakes communications 24 hours a day, including weekends, concerning vessel maintenance, repair, and operations.\nCompany Overview\nCenterline Logistics is a leading provider of marine transportation services in the United States.
