Primary responsibilities include installations, troubleshooting, monitoring, and documentation.\nPrimary Responsibilities \nWork directly with colocation customers to isolate and troubleshoot issues as necessary.\nResponsible for the installation and troubleshooting of all copper and fiber cross connects and run bundles of cables throughout a data center.\nLayer 1 cable testing, including light testing, continuity - Transmit/Receive, DB Loss Level, head-to-head testing. Terminate and test cabling using various connectors (LC/SC, RJ45).\nThoroughly document all work within a ticket system in support of customer requests and execution of installation tasks.\nManage and prepare incoming and outgoing customer tape backups/rotations and offsite transfers.\nAssume monitoring role for all critical systems utilizing Building Monitoring System. Provide visibility and support to the Facilities Team. \nFollow all global policies and procedures. Effectively escalate events in a timely manner to the appropriate team.\nPerform and execute installation/de-installation projects that would include the racking and stacking, dressing cabling and labeling.\nWork efforts which requires work with ladders and various hand tools.\nEmployee’s assigned work shift can vary based on site coverage requirements. Shifts include nights, weekends, and holidays. On-call and overtime will be necessary depending on workload requirements.\nLifting of hardware equipment required up to and in excess of 50 pounds. Standing, bending and kneeling as needed to perform this task. Server lifts can be utilized where applicable.\nPerform additional/other duties as assigned such as (but not limited to): Physical Security including, monitoring and controlling access to the Data Center, cleanliness and appearance of raised floor (including physical clean-up) and shipping/receiving duties.\nExperience & Qualifications\nCollege degree preferred, not required. 2+ years of operational and technical experience in an IT environment required.\nIT Certification and/or familiarity with BICSI is desired.\n2 to 3 years’ experience with the installation, testing and terminating of copper, fiber (multi & single mode) and coaxial cable.\nWorking knowledge of all OSI layers, TCP/IP model and associated protocols such as DNS.\nHighly effective at troubleshooting Layer 1-3 issues (physical, data link and network layers).\nThorough understanding of TIA/EIA-568 and IEEE 802.3 Ethernet fundamentals.\nUNIX/Windows operating system navigation, general commands and system programs/processes knowledge and experience.\nSecurity clearance via Government or other agency background check may be required for customer support.\nExcellent communication and organizational skills are required.\nStrong team player\n$85,000 - $96,500/yr plus bonus\n401k, Medical, Dental, Etc\nThis employer will not sponsor visas for this role.\nCsquare is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
