Come talk to us about joining the Centerstone team!\nJOB DESCRIPTION:\nSUMMARY OF POSITION\nProvides emotional/informational support for program participants and their families. Assists clients with access to positive social connections and community-based or office-based recovery support services. This role will work with community partners and local stakeholders to provide comprehensive care in the community or office. As a part of the community-based or office-based team, the Peer Support Specialist will meet with individuals in office and/or their own environment such as in the client’s home, hospital, the office, schools/work, etc. This role will ensure continuity of care with clients through peer services as well as sharing their own lived experiences to provide clients with education, support, and hope. A variety of clinical training opportunities are available based on program and interest.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES\nDevelop and maintain therapeutic relationships with clients and conduct outreach activities.\nAssist clients in identifying personal recovery goals and setting objectives for each goal.\nProvide individual and group peer support services.\nModel effective coping techniques and self-help strategies. Facilitate wraparound/recovery supports (e.g., transportation, social connection, job training, benefits enrollment) based on individual treatment plan goals.\nCollaborate with treatment team to develop and review treatment plans. Network with community stakeholders to advocate for clients.\nEducate the community about peer support services and the peer-based philosophy.\nCompletes all required agency trainings to maintain 100% compliance.\nMaintains departmental productivity expectations. Additional training and/or certification may be required based on specific program guidelines.\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES\nCompetency with electronic medical records, computer systems, and documentation. \nStrong interpersonal communication skills in order to collaborate with team members and maintain professionalism in the community. \nAccountable and self-directed with daily job duties.\nKnowledge of community resources or ability to learn quickly. \nQUALIFICATIONS\nEducation Level\nHigh school diploma or GED required.\nYears of Experience\nLived experience with mental illness, substance use, or homelessness and/or experience gained through family member’s mental health/substance use. \nExperience navigating the healthcare systems and other community support resources. \nExperience working with individuals with mental health or substance use concerns preferred.\nCertification/Licensure\nMust have a valid FL driver’s license.\nCertified Recovery Peer Specialist (CRPS) Certification must be obtained within one year of employment start date.\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS\nStanding - 20%\nSitting - 80%\nSquatting - Occasional\nKneeling - Occasional\nBending - Occasional\nDriving - Occasional\nLifting - Occasional\nDISCLAIMER\nThe duties and responsibilities described in this document are not a comprehensive list and additional tasks may be assigned to the employee from time to time, or the scope of the job may change as necessitated by business demands.\nTime Type:\nFull timePay Range:\n$14.25--$20.00Delivering care that changes people's lives starts with our employees.
