Come talk to us about joining the Centerstone team!\nJOB DESCRIPTION:\nSUMMARY OF POSITION\nProvides nursing care to clients in crisis in the Walk-In Center and Crisis Stabilization Unit. Provides medication monitoring, adjusts medications within limits prescribed by authorized prescriber. Provides information, education, and support to individuals in crisis that promote wellness and recovery.\nPRN RN 7a-7p\nESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES\nPerforms nursing assessments on individuals being admitted to the WIC/CSU. \nMonitors vitals, performs lab testing, and evaluates medical appropriateness for admission and continued stay. Obtain and enters orders into EMR from authorized prescriber.\nAdministers and gives medications to patients, monitors the dosage, side effects, use and documents patients’ reactions. \nProvides medication training to the guest or guest’s family/guardian to administer the guest’s medication, to monitor proper levels of dosage and watch for side effects.\nDevelops and maintains the Treatment Plan of Care for guests. \nOversees the administering of nursing needs of guests.\nPerforms as a liaison role between guest and the authorized prescriber, pharmacist, family, and/or collateral support systems.\nCoordinates guest- staff assignment of care and provides shift change report. \nObserves guests on a day-to-day basis and provides documentation in the EMR.\nProvides group or individual education as needed.\nParticipates and/or leads staff meetings and training as scheduled or necessary.\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES\nEffectively communicate via written, verbal, in person and virtual methods.\nPerforms basic electronic medical record computer skills.\nDetail oriented with effective problem solving skills\nPossesses leadership skills\nKnowledge base in psychotropic medications.\nSkill in crisis intervention.\nAbility to de-escalate patient/clients using evidence based de-escalation training (e.g. Theapeutic Options) to include safety holds as necessary.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nEducation Level\nMinimum of Associates Nursing Degree from an accredited school or a Waiver approved LPN by State of TN. RN Preferred.\nYears of Experience\nOne year of behavioral health nursing experience preferred\nCertification/Licensure\nLicensure required.
