Calculates, measures, and documents appropriate values on the tests performed for review and interpretation by providers. Responsible for equipment maintenance, reporting equipment malfunctions and quality assessment. The Cardiac Sonographer assumes ownership and leads advanced, specialized administrative, operational, and patient support duties that require independent initiative and judgment. You will report to the Center Administrator.The Cardiac Sonographer performs diagnostic imaging procedures independently, ensuring accurate results and high-quality patient care. We are looking for strong clinical judgment, technical expertise, and a commitment to maintaining professional standards and ethical practices.\nMain responsibilities:\nPerform high-quality 2D echocardiograms with color flow Doppler within a 45-minute timeframe, while applying sound clinical judgment and following established protocols.\nCommunicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with physicians, cardiologists, nurses, sonographers, and other healthcare professionals.\nConduct patient assessments, explain the purpose of echocardiographic and vascular ultrasound procedures, and address patient questions with professionalism and empathy.\nApply cognitive skills to identify, adapt, and differentiate between normal and pathological findings during exams.\nPrepare exam rooms, verify patient identity, and follow infection control procedures, including Standard Precautions.\nEvaluate requisitions or medical records to ensure appropriate patient preparation and procedural accuracy.\nMaintain compliance with patient confidentiality laws, privacy regulations, and ethical standards.\nMaintain current ARDMS and/or CCI certifications in adult echocardiography and Basic Life Support (BLS).\nDemonstrate sound judgment in the use of echo contrast agents.\nMaintain ultrasound equipment and supplies; promptly report malfunctions and support lab accreditation efforts.\nCoordinate schedules to ensure efficient workflow and coverage.\nProvide in-service education to staff as requested and perform other duties as assigned.\nUse your skills to make an impact\nRequired Qualifications:\nCurrent certification as a Sonographer/Ultrasound Technician required\nCertification in Echocardiography through ARDMS or CCI required\nCompletion of an accredited Ultrasound Technology program required\nDemonstrated experience performing vascular studies required\nAt least 1 year of experience in a diagnostic facility or hospitalExperience with ultrasound equipment, techniques, and diagnostic protocols\nCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) certification\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team\nTB screening required upon selection\nPreferred Qualifications\nVascular certification\nProficiency in both vascular and echocardiographic imaging\nExperience using Microsoft Outlook and basic computer applications\nBilingual in English and Spanish\nWork Hours: Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm\nLocation: You will support Conviva Okeechobee and Conviva Military Trial.\nAlert:\nHumana values personal identify protection.
