You will report to a Supervisor, Clinic Administration.This is an on-site role working in The Villages, FL located at:\n8877 SE 165th Mulberry Ln.\nThe Villages, FL 32162\nRole Responsibilities:\nProcesses incoming and outgoing calls/messages.\nPerforms patient intake, obtains necessary patient information to file and update patient records.\nEnsures consents are reviewed and completed by clinician.\nPerforms pre-encounter prep before patients' visit, including identifying open care gaps.\nGathers patient data through interview and observation.\nAssists the clinician during medical treatments, examinations, and procedures.\nPrepares patients for examination, performs and documents vital signs, and records patients' health history and medication reconciliation.\nPrepares and sanitizes equipment, examination rooms and instruments.\nManages inventory of medical supplies and equips exam rooms with appropriate supplies.\nEmbraces and participates in quality initiatives, goal attainment, and collaborates on clinical process improvement activities.\nProvides routine treatments and administers approved medication per clinician order within scope.\nDocuments patient data, treatments, procedures, and patient education per organizational policies.\nAssists the clinician by being a liaison on behalf of the patient to schedule appointments; provides patient with scheduling information to obtain testing, and/or clinician consultation.\nUse your skills to make an impact\nRequired Qualifications:\nActive and unrestricted Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).\nCPR/BLS Healthcare Provider Certification within 90 days of employment.\n1 + years of experience working within a healthcare setting.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nProficiency with Athena.\nExperience working in a value-based care environment.\nAnnual Requirements:\nMust maintain current license, certification, or registration.\nMust complete required CEUs for licensure/certification.\nMust maintain current BLS certification.\nEMR and Clinical competencies completed and signed as assigned.\nPrecept students and new employees.\nParticipate in annual clinical checkoffs for new and annual trainings.\nHelp to revise and implement two clinical workflows or procedures.\nMust complete at least 4 educational sessions.\nMust complete 24 CEUs annually.\nHelp to revise and implement 2 clinical workflow procedures using current Evidence Based Practice literature or research\n\nAdditional Information:\nThis role is considered patient facing and is part of Humana's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program.
