This role is responsible for developing the software, controls, data architecture, and analytics infrastructure required to automate calibration processes and provide complete traceability of calibration records throughout their lifecycle.\nWorking closely with controls, instrumentation, metrology, quality, operations, and data teams, the successful candidate will design and build National Instruments (NI) data acquisition systems, develop LabVIEW-based calibration software, and establish the data pipelines and analysis tools that collect, store, validate, and analyze calibration data. The engineer will also evaluate and select data platform architectures, including integration with Palantir Foundry and related data technologies.\nAll work is performed under an NQA-1 quality program within an NRC-regulated environment, requiring the highest standards of technical rigor, accuracy, repeatability, and documentation.\nWhat You'll Do\nAs the technical leader for calibration automation, you will drive the design and implementation of advanced calibration systems supporting a wide range of instrumentation, including pressure, temperature, flow, and level sensors, as well as specialized test stand equipment. You will evaluate, select, configure, and integrate National Instruments data acquisition hardware and reference standards while developing robust LabVIEW applications that automate calibration sequences, capture high-fidelity measurement data, and support long-term operational reliability.\nYou will establish the software architecture, coding standards, reusable development libraries, and quality practices that guide the calibration software program. In addition, you will develop control logic for automated sequencing, system stabilization, and process setpoint management using LabVIEW and PLC technologies where appropriate. Working at the intersection of controls engineering and digital transformation, you will evaluate data management solutions, recommend platform architectures, and lead the integration of calibration systems with Palantir Foundry, databases, historians, and related enterprise technologies.\nA significant part of the role involves building data pipelines and designing data models that provide complete calibration traceability, linking equipment records with reference standards, procedures, operators, asset identifiers, and calibration results. You will develop analytical tools that evaluate calibration curves, measurement uncertainty, drift performance, statistical trends, and pass/fail criteria, while creating dashboards and reporting tools that provide visibility into equipment status, calibration schedules, out-of-tolerance conditions, and long-term performance metrics.\nYou will also develop operator interfaces that simplify calibration execution and review, author technical documentation including software requirements, data specifications, test procedures, and calibration instructions, and ensure systems are verified and validated through rigorous testing programs. Success in this role requires maintaining compliance with NQA-1 software quality standards, configuration management requirements, version control processes, and audit-ready documentation practices.\nIn partnership with cybersecurity, quality, and operational technology teams, you will support data integrity, cybersecurity, and regulatory requirements while investigating measurement anomalies, troubleshooting complex system issues, and leading root-cause analyses. As a senior member of the engineering organization, you will mentor junior engineers, provide technical leadership across disciplines, and coordinate the work of vendors and contractors to ensure successful project execution.\nWe’d Love to Hear from Candidates With\nBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline; equivalent experience may be considered\nEight or more years of experience developing data acquisition, automated test, or controls software solutions within industrial, process, manufacturing, energy, or testing environments\nDemonstrated success designing and implementing automated data collection and analysis systems for calibration, testing, or measurement applications\nAdvanced experience developing applications in LabVIEW and integrating National Instruments DAQ hardware with a variety of sensor and instrumentation technologies, including analog and digital signals, RTDs, thermocouples, 4-20 mA devices, serial communications, GPIB, and Ethernet-based systems\nExperience working with databases, historians, and data platforms, including SQL and data modeling concepts\nAbility to evaluate technical tools and recommend scalable software and data architectures\nProficiency in Python or similar scripting languages for analysis, automation, and data processing\nStrong understanding of instrumentation principles, metrology, calibration methods, and measurement uncertainty\nWorking knowledge of PLC programming and industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, EtherNet/IP, and OPC UA\nExperience operating within formal quality and change management systems, including NQA-1 or similar frameworks\nAbility to interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, instrument loop drawings, and technical specifications\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nA Successful Candidate Also Bring\nCertified LabVIEW Developer (CLD) or Certified LabVIEW Architect (CLA)\nExperience implementing Palantir Foundry pipelines, ontology models, and dashboards\nExperience with NQA-1 software quality assurance, software verification and validation, and software dedication processes\nExperience with calibration management systems and traceability to NIST or equivalent standards\nKnowledge of statistical analysis methods and uncertainty calculations, including GUM methodologies\nExperience supporting nuclear, gas centrifuge, or other highly regulated industrial facilities\nFunctional safety experience, including SIL-rated systems and safety PLCs\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license or ASQ Certified Calibration Technician (CCT) or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification\nActive Q or Top Secret security clearance\nPay:\nEstimated Starting Base Salary Range: $98,227-163,711. This position is Incentive eligible. Centrus considers several factors when extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates’ key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. While the posted range reflects the anticipated hiring range for this position, compensation above the range may be considered for candidates with exceptional qualifications and directly relevant experience.\nIn compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.\nThis position will require a pre-employment background check and a pre-employment drug test.\nCentrus Energy and all subsidiaries shall abide by the applicable legal requirements.
