Machinist Supervisor - Second Shift

As a Machining Supervisor, you’ll guide a skilled team, ensure production goals are met, and maintain the high standards required for Centrus’ mission-critical programs. This is a role for someone who thrives on precision, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

What You Will Do

• Manage a group of Machinists and Senior Machinists to ensure schedules are met and production goals achieve positive variances
• Report project status and progress to management as needed
• Maintain strong communication and seamless collaboration with design, manufacturing, operations, and testing teams
• Set up and operate machines to verify performance, capability, and conformance to customer specifications
• Interpret prints, sketches, diagrams, specs, handbook formulas, layouts, and apply shop math (including trigonometry and descriptive geometry)
• Use all precision measuring tools-calipers, micrometers, gauges, dial indicators-to ensure part quality and configuration.
• Select and install tools, fixtures, machine attachments, and equipment, identifying and correcting faulty tools when needed
• Monitor machining systems, including mechanical, electrical/electronic diagnostics, cutter data, probes, and sensors to adjust machine performance
• Maximize machine capacity while reducing setups and machining time
• Perform bench work and finishing operations to ensure parts meet required specifications
• Analyze drawings and specifications to plan machining operations and build sequences
• Ensure alignment, tolerances, finishes, and functionality meet engineering and manufacturing standards

We'd Love to Hear from People With

• 5+ years of machinist experience in a manufacturing environment
• 2+ years of supervisory or team-lead experience
• The ability to obtain and maintain a “Q” clearance

A Successful Candidate Brings

• Completion of an apprenticeship or equivalent on-the-job training
• Experience with Esprit CAD/CAM and CREO Manufacturing software
• An active Q Clearance

Pay

Estimated Starting Base Salary Range: $80,310-133,850. This position is Bonus eligible. Centrus considers several factors when extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates’ key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. While the posted range reflects the anticipated hiring range for this position, compensation above the range may be considered for candidates with exceptional qualifications and directly relevant experience.

This position will require a pre­-employment background check and a pre-employment drug test.

This position will require preemployment background check on the part of the Company and in order to receive a Q security clearance, a background investigation by the Federal government. Subsequent Federal government reinvestigations may be required.
