In this role, the Supervisor oversees all dimensional inspection operations-including CMM programming, GD&T application, and release-while also guiding APQP activities, PFMEA and Control Plan development, measurement systems analysis (MSA), SPC initiatives, and structured problem-solving efforts such as 8D and 5 Whys. This leader is responsible for developing talent through training, qualification, and mentoring of both inspectors and QE specialists, and plays a central role in coordinating with Manufacturing, Design, Supply Chain, and Regulatory/QA teams to support release readiness, resolve technical issues, and mitigate operational risk.\nWhat You Will Do\nInspection Leadership\nOversee day-to-day inspection workflow, staffing, priorities, and product release\nReview inspections for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with drawings and specifications\nEnsure integrity of inspection data within ERP systems; manage nonconformance documentation and closure\nMaintain calibration and accuracy of coordinate-measuring machines; oversee Zeiss Calypso programming where applicable\nDrive safety practices and ensure compliance with all procedures and regulatory requirements\nQuality Engineering Oversight\nGuide APQP planning, PFMEA development, Control Plans, and process capability improvements\nLead measurement systems analysis (MSA) and build robust metrology strategies\nDirect structured problem solving (8D) and verify corrective-action effectiveness\nPartner with Manufacturing Engineering to strengthen process controls and reduce defect escapes\nTechnical Coordination\nRepresent QC in technical discussions to clarify requirements, acceptance criteria, and deliverables\nProvide technical input for statements of work, inspection scope, inspection methods, and standards\nDefine quality deliverables (inspection plans, reports, certificates) and manage change control\nSupport readiness reviews, audits, and pre-award technical exchanges to ensure alignment with QMS and regulatory requirements\nContinuous Improvement & Metrics\nEstablish and report KPIs such as first-pass yield, defect escape, turnaround time, and calibration uptime\nIdentify and implement inspection-process improvements and remove workflow bottlenecks\nCoach teams in SPC and data-driven decision making; maintain audit-ready documentation\nCompliance & Governance\nEnsure adherence to site QMS, ASME NQA-1, DOE/NRC requirements, and internal procedures\nParticipate on audit teams and support regulatory assessments by preparing objective evidence and responses\nMaintain independence of quality decisions and exercise stop-work authority when necessary\nWe'd Love to Hear from Candidates With\nAssociate degree in a related field or equivalent quality/supervisory experience\n5+ years of dimensional inspection and CMM programming experience; strong GD&T expertise (ANSI Y14.5)\nDemonstrated leadership experience with technical teams, including staffing and development\nWorking knowledge of SPC and deployment of quality tools and techniques\nAbility to communicate effectively with all levels of management\nAbility to obtain and maintain a DOE/NRC Q-level security clearance\nA Successful Candidate Also Brings\nBachelor’s degree in engineering or physical sciences\nExperience with APQP, PFMEA, Control Plans, and process capability improvements\nProgramming and operational experience with Zeiss Calypso and CMM equipment\nExperience in high-precision metal forming, machining, or finishing\n4+ years of experience in regulated nuclear applications (ASME NQA-1)\nPay:\nEstimated Starting Base Salary Range: $95,012 - $158,353. This position is incentive eligible. Centrus considers several factors when extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates’ key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications.
