The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve production efficiency, enhance product quality, reduce downtime, and support continuous improvement initiatives through advanced automation technologies.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign, develop, and implement automation solutions for manufacturing processes.\n\nProgram, troubleshoot, and optimize PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, robotics, and industrial control systems.\n\nSupport the installation, commissioning, and validation of new production equipment.\n\nAnalyze manufacturing processes and identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, safety, and cost.\n\nPerform root cause analysis of equipment failures and implement corrective actions.\n\nDevelop and maintain electrical schematics, control system documentation, and standard operating procedures.\n\nCollaborate with production, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams to resolve technical issues.\n\nLead or support capital automation projects from concept through implementation.\n\nEnsure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.\n\nMonitor equipment performance using data analysis and recommend continuous improvement initiatives.\n\nTrain production and maintenance personnel on new automation systems and equipment.\n\nMaintain spare parts inventories and support preventive and predictive maintenance programs.\n\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related technical field.\n\n9+ years of experience in manufacturing automation, industrial controls, or process engineering.\n\nExperience programming PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron, or similar).\n\nKnowledge of industrial communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profinet, or DeviceNet.\n\nExperience with robotics integration and automated material handling systems.\n\nStrong understanding of electrical controls, sensors, actuators, servo systems, and VFDs.\n\nAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and mechanical drawings.\n\nStrong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.\n\nExcellent communication and project management abilities.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with Industry 4.0 technologies, IIoT, and data analytics.\n\nKnowledge of vision inspection systems and machine safety standards.\n\nExperience with SQL databases, Python, C#, or other programming languages.\n\nFamiliarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.\n\nProfessional certifications in automation or controls engineering are a plus.\n\nKey Competencies\nTechnical problem-solving\n\nProject management\n\nProcess optimization\n\nContinuous improvement mindset\n\nCross-functional collaboration\n\nAttention to detail\n\nTime management\n\nSafety-first approach\n\nWorking Conditions\nManufacturing plant environment with exposure to industrial machinery.\n\nTravel to contract manufacturing sites and suppliers\n\nMay require off-shift or weekend support during equipment installations or production emergencies.\n\nPerformance Metrics\nSuccess in this role will be measured by:\nImprovement in overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)\n\nIncreased production efficiency\n\nSuccessful implementation of automation projects\n\nReduction in manufacturing defects\n\nCompliance with safety and quality standards\n\nAchievement of project timelines and budgets\n\nThe salary range for this position is $180,000 - $220,000 annually.
