This role will focus on designing and deploying robust test fixtures, hardware interfaces, qualifying manufacturing test processes, and driving production test coverage, yield, throughput, and reliability.\nThe ideal candidate combines strong hardware troubleshooting skills with software development and manufacturing engineering experience. You will work closely with hardware design, systems engineering, firmware, software, quality, and contract manufacturing teams to ensure complex computing systems are tested consistently and efficiently throughout the manufacturing lifecycle.\nKey Responsibilities\nDevelop and maintain automated test systems for advanced computing hardware, including system boards, high-speed interconnects, power delivery, cooling subsystems, and integrated computing platforms.\n\nDesign manufacturing test strategies covering board-level functional testing, system integration, hardware diagnostics, and final system acceptance.\n\nDevelop test procedures, test specifications, test fixtures, and supporting documentation for new product introduction (NPI) and production ramp.\n\nDefine test coverage requirements, acceptance criteria, and pass/fail limits in collaboration with design, quality, and test teams.\n\nEvaluate and implement appropriate test methodologies, instrumentation, and automation frameworks to improve manufacturing test effectiveness.\n\nIntegrate test equipment, programmable power supplies, electronic loads, oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, communication interfaces, and hardware management controllers.\n\nSupport NPI builds, pilot production, manufacturing qualification, and high-volume production ramp.\n\nTroubleshoot manufacturing test failures and collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.\n\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives focused on test cycle time, station utilization, process repeatability, and manufacturing cost.\n\nVerify that manufacturing test solutions are repeatable, maintainable, and suitable for deployment across production sites.\n\nPartner with design engineering, systems engineering, firmware, software, quality, supply chain, and contract manufacturing teams.\n\nSupport manufacturing test station deployment, equipment qualification, operator training, and process documentation.\n\nCommunicate test results, production risks, and improvement opportunities to engineering and operations stakeholders.\n\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.\n\n5+ years (10 years is ideal) of experience in manufacturing test development, hardware validation, test automation, or production engineering.\n\nProficiency in Python for test automation, hardware control, data processing, and diagnostic development.\n\nHands-on experience testing electronic assemblies, computer systems, embedded hardware, or complex electromechanical products.\n\nExperience integrating automated test software with laboratory or manufacturing test equipment.\n\nStrong understanding of digital electronics, power electronics fundamentals, communication interfaces, and hardware bring-up.\n\nExperience with contract manufacturers and outsourced manufacturing operations.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with automated manufacturing test frameworks, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and production test station development.\n\nFamiliarity with statistical process control (SPC), failure analysis, root-cause methodologies, and corrective action processes.\n\nExperience with SQL, dashboards, data visualization, or other tools for manufacturing test data analysis.\n\nKnowledge of design for testability, design for manufacturability, and manufacturing process qualification.\n\nThe salary range for this position is $180,000 - $220,000 annually.
