OpenAI recently announced a multi-year partnership with Cerebras, to deploy 750 megawatts of scale, transforming key workloads with ultra high-speed inference.\nAbout the Role\nWe are looking for a New College Graduate Supplier Quality Engineer to support supplier quality for the components, printed circuit board assemblies, subassemblies, and system-level products used in Cerebras systems.\nIn this role, you will work with experienced Supplier Quality Engineers and collaborate with Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Operations, Strategic Sourcing, and suppliers. You will review supplier quality documentation, monitor supplier performance, investigate manufacturing issues, and help ensure suppliers are ready to support new-product introduction and production.\nAs you develop technical knowledge and experience, you will take increasing ownership of First Article Inspection reviews, routine supplier corrective actions, supplier-performance analysis, and qualification activities. Complex, high-risk, or business-critical decisions will be handled in partnership with senior members of the Supplier Quality team.\nKey Responsibilities\nReview First Article Inspection packages against engineering drawings, specifications, dimensional results, and material and process certifications. Identify gaps in supplier evidence and, after appropriate training, approve packages within an assigned level of authority.\n\nMaintain First Article, supplier-qualification, audit, and quality records in Product Lifecycle Management and quality-management systems using established document, revision, and change-control practices.\n\nMonitor supplier scorecards and quality trends, including defects, parts per million, supplier escapes, audit findings, repeat nonconformances, and corrective-action aging. Summarize risks and escalate adverse trends.\n\nIssue and manage routine Supplier Corrective Action Requests with guidance as needed. Review supplier containment and 8D responses, track commitments and due dates, and help verify corrective-action effectiveness using objective evidence.\n\nSupport new-supplier assessments and qualification activities, including reviews of technical capability, quality systems, manufacturing controls, inspection methods, traceability, capacity, and risk.\n\nParticipate in supplier quality-system and manufacturing-process audits. Document observations, track assigned corrective actions, and help drive findings to closure.\n\nSupport supplier readiness for new-product-introduction and pilot builds by reviewing inspection plans, process flows, process failure mode and effects analyses, control plans, measurement methods, and capability data where applicable.\n\nAssist with incoming-quality issues, nonconformance investigations, material disposition, deviations, supplier change notifications, and changes involving processes, tooling, manufacturing sites, or sub-tier suppliers.\n\nUse structured problem-solving methods such as 8D, 5 Whys, and fishbone analysis to investigate supplier and manufacturing-quality issues.\n\nWork with Engineering, Operations, Strategic Sourcing, and suppliers to communicate requirements, resolve quality issues, and drive assigned actions to closure.\n\nSkills and Qualifications\n2026 new graduate available for an immediate start.\n\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field, completed or expected before the position's start date.\n\nZero to two years of relevant experience. Internships, co-op assignments, research, laboratory work, and hands-on engineering projects are valued.\n\nFoundational understanding of manufacturing, inspection, quality engineering, statistics, and structured problem-solving.\n\nAbility to read engineering drawings and specifications, with foundational knowledge of tolerances and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.\n\nFamiliarity with First Article Inspection and quality tools such as statistical process control, Cp/Cpk, measurement-system analysis, process failure mode and effects analysis, control plans, 8D, and 5 Whys through coursework, internships, or project experience.\n\nExposure to one or more relevant manufacturing processes, such as printed circuit board assembly, cables, machining, sheet metal, plastics, or system assembly.\n\nProficiency with Excel or similar tools for organizing, analyzing, and presenting quality data.\n\nFamiliarity with, or the ability to learn, Product Lifecycle Management and quality-management systems, including document control, revision control, engineering changes, approval workflows, and configuration traceability.\n\nAbility to evaluate technical evidence, distinguish facts from assumptions, document findings accurately, and communicate risks clearly.\n\nStrong attention to detail, organization, curiosity, initiative, and willingness to learn from experienced engineers and manufacturing partners.\n\nAbility to work effectively across internal engineering and operations teams and with external suppliers.\n\nWillingness to travel to domestic and international supplier sites as needed for assessments, production support, training, and issue resolution.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nInternship, co-op, project, or research experience in supplier quality, manufacturing, hardware development, quality engineering, or operations.\n\nFamiliarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, Advanced Product Quality Planning, Production Part Approval Process, or another relevant quality standard or product-qualification framework.\n\nHands-on participation in an engineering organization or project such as Formula SAE, robotics, aerospace, electronics, or a university manufacturing laboratory.\n\nWhy Join Cerebras\nPeople who are serious about software make their own hardware.
