Our entire team is driven by a shared commitment to transforming the landscape of critical care through our rapid seizure detection technology, come join the movement!\nPosition Overview:\nThe Senior Manager, Applied AI Engineering is a senior individual contributor role with broad ownership across Ceribell's internal AI engineering portfolio. This person will carry projects from initial problem definition through production deployment, operating effectively under conditions of ambiguity and incomplete specification. The technical bar is high - this is first and foremost an engineering role - but the ability to engage at the business layer and translate between technical and commercial realities is equally non-negotiable. \nThis role reports directly to the Director of Strategic Programs and Applied AI and works in close, ongoing collaboration with Engineering leadership. The successful candidate will direct external engineering contractors, partner cross-functionally with stakeholders across commercial, clinical, finance, and operations, and take on expanding ownership of the AI project portfolio as the function scales. \nThis is a remote position. Candidate can be based anywhere within the US. \nWhat you'll do:\nAssume end-to-end ownership of AI engineering projects across the portfolio - from requirements definition through architecture, development oversight, and production deployment\nDesign GCP infrastructure across all environments, in partnership with engineering: Cloud Run, IAM, VPC network isolation, CI/CD pipelines, secrets management, observability, and security controls \nTranslate business requirements into technically precise specifications - and proactively challenge scope or approach when a stronger path exists\nLead company-wide AI infrastructure rollout and upskilling initiatives, including training programs, office hours, super-user community development, and AI governance scaffolding\nDevelop PRDs, architecture documents, and project scopes that enable contractors and engineering partners to execute independently\nForecast build timelines and resource requirements across a portfolio of concurrent initiatives\nDirect and quality-review the output of external engineering contractors\nIdentify and advance system-level improvements proactively - with a recommendation and a plan, not merely an observation\nBuild documentation and operational foundations designed to scale beyond any individual project \nWhat We're Looking For: \nRequired \n8+ years of experience spanning software engineering, cloud infrastructure, and technical program or product management \nActive, daily use of LLM-based AI tools (Claude, Gemini, or equivalent) as a core part of your professional workflow - not familiarity, fluency \nDemonstrated ability to architect and own GCP infrastructure end-to-end, without external direction \nProven capacity to move from an ambiguous problem statement to a structured technical plan independently \nStrong ability to engage cross-functional business stakeholders, identify the root of what they actually need, and translate that into technically sound specifications \nExperience writing PRDs, architecture documents, and detailed project scopes \nBachelor's degree required; Master's degree strongly preferred \nPreferred \nFamiliarity with mobile development constraints and cross-platform frameworks\nExperience with Salesforce integrations or CRM-adjacent technical work\nExperience directing or managing external engineering contractors or vendors\nBackground in MedTech, health IT, or a regulated industry \nWhat Sets the Best Candidates Apart \nYou leave every system, document, and process better than you found it - consistently, without being asked\nYou bring fully-formed ideas and recommendations, not status updates awaiting direction\nYou think in systems and design for scale, not just for the immediate ask\nYou are genuinely invested in arriving at the best answer, and will push back - respectfully and constructively - when you believe a better one exists\nYou are energized by fast-moving, resource-constrained environments where ownership is total and the problems are genuinely novel \nCompensation Range\n$177,000—$226,000 USD\nA candidate’s final salary offer will be based on their skills, education, work location and experience, and thus it may differ from the posted range.
