For more than 60 years, Hamilton has been satisfying customer needs by combining quality materials with skilled workmanship, ensuring the highest level of performance of every precision fluid measuring device we manufacture.Responsibilities\nAs a Senior Mechanical Engineer with Hamilton, you will help us deliver positive innovations by designing and building practical solutions to develop, test, and implement new products. Specifically, you will take ideas from concept to implementation through CAD design, dimensioned drawings, prototype assembly and testing, tooling design, manufacturing specifics, and more. A successful Mechanical Engineer will bring an analytical mindset to independently take control of and complete assigned sections of new product development efforts.\nThis is a full-time onsite role at our headquarters in Reno, NV.\nEssential Functions:\nPerform design and development tasks from concept to implementation, including CAD design, dimensioned drawings, prototype assembly/testing, tooling design, manufacturing process instructions, V&V, etc.\nPlan projects, including developing schedules, time estimates, and cost estimates.\nStudy and evaluate disciplinary or interdisciplinary aspects of new product or design concepts (mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, firmware, software).\nPlan and direct design testing to ensure performance at all stages of design and development.\nComplete assigned development tasks in a timely manner, complying with performance and industry standards.\nThoroughly document assigned development tasks including defining specifications, evaluating risk, determining test procedures, defining acceptance criteria, communicating test results, and executing Engineering Change Orders.\nClear presentation of developments or designs at design reviews.\nIndependently drive and complete assigned major sections of a new product development effort.\nCommunicate and coordinate across departments and with outside vendors.\nTroubleshoot production floor problems, determine solutions, and implement design changes.\nHands-on use of mechanical tools and instrumentation.\nAll other duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nExcellent communication skills (verbal, listening, and written), including the ability to interface effectively with other engineering disciplines, leaders, front line workers, and vendors.\nStrong analytical skills.\nStrong skills in building 3D part models, CAD assemblies, and creating dimensioned engineering drawings.\nAbility to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently.\nWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).\nEducation/Experience\nRequired\nBachelor's degree or equivalent in mechanical engineering or related field from an accredited higher education institution, or equivalent combination of education and experience.\nExperience in the design and development of machined parts and/or cast or molded components.\nConsistent usage of a solid modeling CAD package.\nExperience creating design layouts and tolerance studies.\nExperience with data acquisition and analysis.\nPreferred\nExperience using Creo for CAD work, but SolidWorks or similar is acceptable.\nRelevant industry experience (fluidics, laboratory products, medical devices, electromechanical
