This internship is data and technology focused - you will help cleanse and consolidate investment data, help build data visualizations using AI tools such as Claude, and support Investment Policy Statement (IPS) and proposal projects. As an Investment Office Data & Technology Intern, you will work with the Portfolio Management team. The role provides exposure to the multi-asset class institutional investing model, and to a range of investment strategies and asset managers.\nThis is a paid, full-time internship (40 hours per week) that offers practical experience in a professional setting. It’s a strong opportunity for students seeking direct insight into the investment industry at a nationally recognized registered investment advisory firm.\nPrimary Responsibilities:\nConduct asset class and capital markets research.\nPrepare clear, concise written reports of analysis performed.\nProvide reports, data, and analysis for the CIO, Head of Solutions, Head of Investment Management, Head of Research, and other business leaders, as directed.\nParticipate in research calls and meetings with industry-leading investment managers; prepare and distribute meeting notes.\nUtilize and help build AI tools to support research, drafting, data analysis, and visualization.\nCleanse, consolidate, and maintain investment-related databases, spreadsheets, and models.\nSupport the preparation of Investment Policy Statements (IPS) and client proposal solutions.\nCollaborate with a team to develop a financial planning or investment research project.\nPerform other responsibilities as assigned.\nRequired Qualifications:\nPursuing an undergraduate degree with a strong academic record. Finance, Mathematics, or Economics majors would fit well with the roll but not required.\nExhibits a strong interest in public and private market investing and portfolio management, as well as financial data and technology solutions.\nAbility to work independently in a fast-paced environment.\nExpertise with Microsoft Office.\nExperience with data management or data visualization tools (e.g., Excel Power Query, SQL, Tableau, or Power BI) is a plus.\nExperience with Bloomberg and Morningstar a plus.\nStrong analytical skills with a high attention to detail.\nStrong presentation and communication skills.\nFamiliarity with mainstream AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT), with interest in applying them to data analysis and visualization.\nAbility to work in a team environment.\nConfidentiality and professional integrity of the highest order.\nIdentify with Cerity Partners’ mission and demonstrate our core values.\nWhy Cerity Partners:\nOur people drive our success by working together to deliver exceptional service to our clients.
