You will collaborate with product, architecture, security, and engineering teams in an agile environment to deliver a scalable, well-governed platform that other Certara teams can adopt with confidence.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nPlatform Engineering\nDesign, develop, and maintain Pulse services, APIs, and event contracts used by multiple Certara applications\n\nBe responsible for one or more significant components of the Pulse platform, including its reliability, performance, and operability in a SaaS environment\n\nBuild secure, scalable patterns for event-based messaging and file/data exchange, and avoid ad hoc point-to-point integrations\n\nSecurity & Compliance\nImplement identity-based authentication and authorization (for example RBAC, ABAC, ReBAC, IAM) across Pulse services\n\nTranslate security, data governance, and regulatory expectations into well-tested engineering solutions\n\nQuality & Delivery\nAuthor and review unit, integration, and contract tests; participate in code and design reviews\n\nBreak complex deliverables into smaller parts and deliver them incrementally to enable collaboration\n\nConsistently produce deliverables that do not require revision\n\nCollaboration & Leadership\nCollaborate with the Technical Product Manager on requirements elicitation, backlog refinement, and technical trade-offs\n\nPartner with consuming application teams to onboard them to Pulse and support adoption\n\nOversee the work of engineers at lower levels and provide significant feedback to team efforts\n\nContribute to process improvements, architecture documentation, and team process documentation\n\nIdentify and anticipate risks related to their own work and communicate them proactively to product leadership\n\nShow initiative beyond checking tasks off a list; identify and suggest future work for themselves and the team\n\nActively use AI coding assistants and agentic tools to accelerate design, development, testing, and documentation, while applying sound engineering judgment and review to AI-generated code\n\nBuild relationships to solve problems directly and limit management escalations\n\nQualifications\n\nRequired Qualifications6+ years of experience in similar software engineering roles\n\nExperience building and operating APIs and event-driven or messaging-based systems\n\nSolid understanding of authentication and authorization concepts and secure coding practices\n\nExperience working in a highly collaborative agile software organization\n\nWillingness to embrace AI-assisted development and to continuously learn and adopt new AI tools and workflows as they evolve\n\nAbility to operate effectively in ambiguous environments and to own significant modules end to end\n\nPreferred QualificationsExperience with shared services, integration platforms, messaging systems, or data pipelines\n\nKnowledge of enterprise identity models such as RBAC, ABAC, ReBAC, and AWS IAM\n\nExperience with cloud-hosted (AWS) SaaS architectures\n\nExperience in regulated or compliance-aware life sciences environments\n\nCertara bases all employment-related decision on merit, taking into consideration qualifications, skills, achievement, and performance.
