This role ensures the availability of accurate, sterile materials to support testing operations while maintaining laboratory safety and compliance standards.\nEssential Responsibilities\nPrepare and maintain bacteriological media and chemical solutions.\nSafely operate an autoclave to sterilize media, reagents, and supplies.\nLabel, handle, store, use, and dispose of media and solutions in accordance with safety guidelines.\nMaintain an accurate inventory of prepared media and supplies.\nCollaborate with other departments to prepare required media in a timely manner.\nPerform work in a neat, safe, hygienic, and efficient manner; maintain cleanliness and equipment within the department.\nFollow established processes, procedures, and techniques in accordance with FSNS policies/procedures, customer requirements, and the media operations manual.\nMaintain laboratory conditions, equipment, supplies, quality assurance programs, and accurate records throughout all procedures.\nShare information in an open and timely manner to support team collaboration.\nComplete required training and comply with safety and quality programs.\nEducation & Experience\nHigh School Diploma or GED required.\nFamiliarity with aseptic sampling techniques.\nExperience operating autoclaves and sterile dispensing equipment preferred.\nBasic knowledge of testing laboratory practices and general laboratory procedures.\nOne or more years of experience in a commercial food-testing laboratory preferred.\nCompetency with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) a plus.\nEquivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.\nSkills & Competencies\nStrong organizational skills and ability to complete detailed manual tasks.\nAbility to work under deadlines, manage interruptions, and multitask effectively.\nLogical thinking and accuracy in task completion.\nBasic math skills: add, subtract, multiply, divide, and work with fractions and decimals.\nAbility to follow written and oral instructions and problem-solve within standardized situations.\nWorking knowledge of ISO 17025 quality procedures and general OSHA laboratory safety guidelines preferred.\nPhysical Demands & Work Environment\nFrequent standing, walking, sitting, reaching, and handling of materials.\nOccasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.\nRegular use of hands and fingers to operate laboratory equipment and computers.\nAbility to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.\nPotential exposure to odors, fumes, airborne particles, hazardous chemicals, and microbiological pathogens.\nVarying noise levels and temperatures (hot to cold).\nFast-paced, team-oriented environment.\nOvernight travel may be required at the discretion of management.\nMust wear appropriate protective clothing and equipment.\nGeneral Requirements\nFlexible schedule availability.\nAbility to perform opening and closing procedures in the media laboratory.\nCommitment to workplace safety for self and others.\nWillingness to work as part of a collaborative, team-driven environment.\n*]:pointer-events-auto [content-visibility:auto] supports-[content-visibility:auto]:[contain-intrinsic-size:auto_100lvh] scroll-mt-[calc(var(--header-height)+min(200px,max(70px,20svh)))]\" data-turn-id=\"request-WEB:5caf57a4-bfbe-4957-8ec6-c7b4b55e8248-0\" data-testid=\"conversation-turn-2\" data-scroll-anchor=\"true\" data-turn=\"assistant\">\nThe compensation details provided below reflect the expected pay range for this role, based on the selected compensation structure and applicable guidelines.
