This role performs sample preparation, analytical testing, instrument operation, and data review activities in support of laboratory operations and client testing requirements.\nThe Toxicology Lab Technician I works within a fast-paced, regulated laboratory environment and is responsible for following validated methods, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality systems to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant results. This position supports the laboratory’s commitment to safety, quality, operational excellence, and customer service in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standards.\nPurpose: So the world can trust in what it consumes.\nMission: Partner with customers to deliver innovative scientific solutions and expertise.\nValues: Start with the customer, commit to safety and quality, drive to deliver, act with integrity, and support the team.\nSchedule: Monday-Friday, 6:45am - 2:45pm\nEssential Responsibilities\nPrepare and analyze samples from tobacco, nicotine, cannabis, hemp-derived, and related consumer products for toxicological testing and compound quantification.\nPerform sample preparation techniques including extractions, dilutions, derivatizations, and reagent preparation following validated methods and SOPs.\nOperate, maintain, and troubleshoot analytical instrumentation including LC-MS/MS, GC-MS, HPLC, ICP-MS, and related laboratory systems.\nPerform routine instrument calibrations, quality control checks, system suitability testing, and verification procedures to ensure data accuracy and instrument performance.\nAccurately document, review, and maintain laboratory records and analytical data within the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) in compliance with data integrity standards.\nSupport method validation, verification, optimization, and implementation of new analytical procedures as assigned.\nMonitor sample workflows and support timely completion of testing to meet laboratory turnaround time commitments.\nMaintain laboratory cleanliness, organization, and compliance with safety and quality requirements.\nManage inventory of laboratory supplies, reagents, standards, and consumables to support uninterrupted laboratory operations.\nParticipate in internal audits, proficiency testing, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives to support ISO/IEC 17025 and GLP compliance.\nCollaborate effectively with laboratory staff, supervisors, and cross-functional teams to support operational goals and customer expectations.\nFollow all laboratory safety procedures, chemical hygiene practices, PPE requirements, and hazardous waste disposal protocols.\nEducation & Experience\nBachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Toxicology, Analytical Chemistry, or related scientific discipline required.\nAdvanced degree preferred.\nOne to three years of laboratory experience in toxicology, analytical chemistry, pharmaceutical, cannabis, tobacco, nicotine, environmental, or regulated testing laboratory environments preferred.\nHands-on experience with chromatographic and mass spectrometric instrumentation including GC-MS, LC-MS/MS, HPLC, and ICP-MS preferred.\nFamiliarity with ISO/IEC 17025, GLP, GMP, or equivalent regulated quality systems preferred.\nExperience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and laboratory documentation practices preferred.\nStrong analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and technical skills required.\nDemonstrated ability to maintain accurate documentation and ensure data integrity.\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced laboratory environment.\nBy applying, you acknowledge that Certified Group will process your personal information for recruitment and hiring purposes in accordance with our Applicant Privacy Policy.
