We’re building a high-ownership team focused on solving real infrastructure problems that impact millions of patients.\nAbout the Role\nWe are looking for an Engineering Manager / Senior Engineering Manager with a strong product engineering background and deep technical understanding to lead high-performing engineering teams.\nThis role combines people leadership, product development, technical strategy, architecture, and execution. You should be able to engage with engineers at a technical level, partner closely with Product and Design, and make sound architectural decisions for complex, scalable systems.\nWe are looking for an engineering leader who understands how AI is changing software development and can help teams adopt AI tooling, RAG, agentic workflows, and AI-native engineering practices.\nRequired Skills & Experience\n8+ years of software engineering experience, with significant technical leadership experience.\n\n3+ years of engineering management or equivalent technical leadership experience.\n\nStrong experience building and operating customer-facing products.\n\nStrong product development background, from product discovery through launch and continuous improvement.\n\nStrong understanding of Java and Spring Boot.\n\nStrong understanding of microservices and distributed systems.\n\nExperience with Kafka and/or messaging systems.\n\nStrong knowledge of PostgreSQL and relational databases.\n\nExperience with NoSQL/document databases such as MongoDB, DynamoDB, or Firestore.\n\nStrong understanding of AWS or GCP.\n\nWorking knowledge of React and modern frontend development.\n\nExperience with APIs, event-driven architecture, and asynchronous systems.\n\nExperience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and cloud-native development.\n\nStrong understanding of observability, reliability, security, and production operations.\n\nPractical understanding of AI/LLMs, RAG, embeddings, vector search, and AI agents.\n\nExperience using or leading adoption of AI coding and engineering tools.\n\nStrong communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.\n\nAbility to operate at both strategic and technical levels.\n\nWhat You’ll Do\nEngineering & Technical Leadership: Lead engineering teams building scalable, reliable, customer-facing products.\n\nAI & AI-Native Engineering: Drive adoption of AI-assisted software development and AI engineering tools across engineering teams.\n\nProduct Engineering: Own engineering delivery for customer-facing products from discovery through launch and operation.\n\nTechnical Architecture & Engineering: Strong understanding of modern full-stack, cloud-native, and distributed system architecture.\n\nPeople Leadership: Build, lead, and retain high-performing engineering teams.\n\nBenefits of Working at Certify\nAt Certify, we’re building with intention and taking care of the people doing the work.\n\nYour well-being matters to us.
