You'll set the architecture, lead a team of engineers to deliver it, and be accountable for the reliability, freshness, and cost of our data.\nWhat You’ll Do\nLead a team of engineers to deliver data platform initiatives end to end\n\nOwn data architecture across OLTP, OLAP, and NoSQL stores (Aurora PostgreSQL, Redshift, MongoDB)\n\nDesign and operate distributed real-time and batch pipelines in Python and PySpark (Kafka, Kinesis, SNS/SQS)\n\nLead entity resolution and MDM architecture for provider data\n\nBuild and own data products with clear contracts, SLAs, and consumers\n\nBe accountable for data reliability, freshness, quality, and cost, with the observability to prove it\n\nDrive performance and scale work: profile, benchmark, and re-architect as volume grows\n\nBuild the data foundations for AI/ML workloads\n\nMentor engineers, raise the bar on design and code review, and partner with product, analytics, and ML\n\nJoin the on-call rotation and turn incidents into systemic fixes\n\nWhat We’re Looking For\n10+ years building production data systems, including Staff or Tech Lead scope\n\nLed a team of engineers to deliver complex data systems\n\nExpert Python and production PySpark\n\nDeep distributed systems knowledge: consistency, partitioning, idempotency, backpressure, failure handling\n\nSignificant entity resolution and MDM experience: matching, deduplication, survivorship, golden records at scale\n\nBuilt and owned data products used by other teams\n\nShipped measurable performance and scale improvements\n\nExpertise across OLTP (Aurora, PostgreSQL, MySQL), OLAP (Redshift, Athena, Snowflake, ClickHouse), and NoSQL (MongoDB, DynamoDB, Cassandra)\n\nStream processing and event-driven architecture (Kafka, Kinesis, SNS/SQS)\n\nData observability in practice: quality checks, lineage, monitoring, alerting\n\nBuilt data platforms that serve ML workloads\n\nInfluences technical direction across teams and communicates clearly with non-technical stakeholders\n\nExperience handling sensitive data (PII/PHI)\n\nFluent with AI-assisted development (Cursor, Claude Code, MCP)\n\nNice to Have\nChange Data Capture (CDC) patterns\n\nData mesh or data-platform-as-a-product approaches\n\nSchema registries or data catalogs\n\nOrchestration tools (AWS Glue, EMR, Managed Flink, Airflow/MWAA, dbt)\n\nHealthcare or other regulated environments\n\nTechnologies & Tools\nOLTP: Aurora, RDS PostgreSQL\n\nOLAP: Redshift, Athena\n\nNoSQL: MongoDB Atlas\n\nStreaming: Kafka (MSK), Kinesis, SNS/SQS\n\nPython and PySpark\n\nAWS, Docker, Kubernetes (EKS)\n\nGitHub Actions\n\nSentry and data observability tooling\n\nCursor, Claude Code, Codex\n\nBenefits of Working at Certify\nAt Certify, we’re building with intention and taking care of the people doing the work.\n\nYour well-being matters to us.
