Manufacturing company is hiring a Controller / Senior Accountant to manage the organization's accounting and financial operations while actively performing day-to-day accounting functions in a fast-paced, interesting company. This role oversees the general ledger, financial reporting, budget support, internal controls, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end close processes.\nThe ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting professional who can manage all aspects of the accounting cycle while ensuring accurate financial reporting. The candidate is also involved in product cost accounting, inventory management and cost analysis for the manufacturing facility.\nResponsibilities\nFinancial Reporting & General Accounting\nLead and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.\nPrepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.\nPerform balance sheet and income statement reconciliations and financial analysis.\nPrepare monthly management reports and variance analyses.\nEnsure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies.\nSupport external and internal audits.\nAccounts Payable Management\nManage accounts payable process for location.\nEnter and maintain purchase orders within the accounting system.\nReview invoices for accuracy and proper approvals.\nEnter vendor bills into the accounting software.\nReconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.\nMaintain vendor records and support documentation.\nMonitor expenditures and ensure compliance with purchasing policies.\nAccounts Receivable Management\nManage accounts receivable process for location.\nMaintain and transact customer sales orders within the accounting system.\nProcess and fulfill sales orders in the accounting software.\nGenerate customer invoices (international only) and statements.\nMaintain customer records and sales revenue as appropriate.\nController Functions\nFollow accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.\nEnsure compliance with financial, regulatory, tax, and reporting requirements.\nOversee fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules.\nIdentify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.\nBudgeting, Forecasting, and Analysis\nAssist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.\nAnalyze operating results and explain variances from budget and prior periods.\nProvide financial insights and recommendations to management.\nSupport strategic and operational decision-making through financial analysis.\nPrepare ad hoc financial reports and business performance metrics.\nLeadership and Collaboration\nServe as the primary accounting resource for department managers and leadership.\nProvide guidance and training on accounting processes and financial controls.\nCollaborate with operations, purchasing, sales, and management teams.\nPromote a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.\nQualifications\nRequired\nBachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.\nFive (5) or more years of progressive accounting experience.\nStrong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.\nExperience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial statement preparation, budgeting, and month-end closing. \nProficiency with accounting and ERP software.\nAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills.\nStrong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.\nStrong algebra skills including scientific notation.\nPreferred\nCPA designation or progress toward certification.\nPrior supervisory or leadership experience.\nExperience managing external
