In this position, you will assist with the design, development, integration, and testing of communications systems supporting products and platforms. This role applies systems engineering principles to develop communications system solutions, improve system performance, and resolve routine communications systems challenges throughout the product lifecycle.\nWorking cross-functionally with systems, software, RF, electrical, mechanical, integration and test, quality, and program teams, this role supports communications systems engineering efforts from concept development through integration, verification, and production.\nJOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nAssist with the design and development of communications system architectures, interfaces, subsystems, and performance models.\nPerform system modeling, link analysis, performance evaluation, trade studies, simulation, and system integration activities.\nReview system requirements, interface specifications, architecture documentation, analytical results, and technical documentation supporting system implementation.\nLeverage and contribute to a digital modelling and simulation ecosystem of tools to model communication system architecture in the support of architetcure trade studies, new business efforts, and requirement development\nIdentify workflow automation opportunities to establish streamlined, repeatable modeling and simulation processes and enable efficient reuse of established modeling and simulation techniques\nPerform verification, validation, testing, simulation, integration, and troubleshooting activities.\nAnalyze simulation results, system performance data, test results, and engineering observations to identify trends and recommend solutions.\nSupport root cause investigations, engineering changes, system improvements, defect resolution, and corrective actions.\nCollaborate with systems, software, RF, electrical, mechanical, integration and test, quality, and program teams throughout product development.\nPrepare technical documentation, interface control documentation, verification reports, engineering reports, and engineering change documentation.\nParticipate in design reviews, technical investigations, customer support activities, system integration, and verification activities.\nReview communications systems engineering methods, modeling practices, requirements management processes, and development activities to identify improvement opportunities.\nApply engineering standards, company procedures, customer requirements, and systems engineering best practices throughout the product lifecycle. \nContribute to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen system performance, requirements quality, modeling accuracy, and engineering effectiveness.\nJOB REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS\nBachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, systems engineering, computer engineering, or a related engineering field with 2-5 years of related experience, or Master's degree with 0-3 years of related experience in communications systems engineering, system architecture, RF systems, systems integration, or a related engineering discipline.\nWorking knowledge of communications systems, systems engineering principles, system architecture, requirements development, and interface management.\nExperience with systems modeling, link analysis, performance evaluation, simulation tools, and engineering analysis methods.\nUnderstanding of digital communications, RF fundamentals, networking concepts, signal processing, interface development, and system integration.\nKnowledge of systems engineering processes, verification methodologies, engineering documentation, technical standards, and requirements management.\nFamiliarity with modeling and simulation, product development, configuration management, and multidisciplinary engineering collaboration.\nMicrosoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.\nEngineering analysis and modeling tools, e.g. MATLAB, Simulink, STK, Python, or equivalent applications.\nEngineering documentation, requirements management, and collaboration tools, e.g. DOORS, Jira, Confluence, or equivalent
