The ideal candidate will be proficient in electronics packaging design, mechanical simulations and analyses, computer-aided design (CAD), spacecraft mechanical interfaces, and environmental qualification of electronic assemblies.\nAs a CesiumAstro mechanical team member, you will be responsible for mechanical designs from initial concept design through requirements definition, detailed design, simulation, analysis, manufacturing, testing, qualification, and in-orbit support of CesiumAstro's products. Required skills and experience include thermal management design, precision machining principles, thermal simulation and analysis, shock and vibration simulation and analysis, electromagnetic interference/compatibility (EMI/EMC) mitigation techniques, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), finite element analysis (FEA), and cost analysis to develop, validate, and optimize mechanical designs.\nThe successful candidate will also present engineering design review materials to our customers and leadership team. As such, excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.\nJOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nAssist with the design and development of mechanical components, assemblies, structures, mechanisms, and hardware supporting products and manufacturing activities.\nPerform engineering analyses, calculations, tolerance studies, structural evaluations, and design trade studies supporting mechanical engineering activities.\nReview engineering drawings, CAD models, specifications, and technical documentation while supporting mechanical design decisions.\nPerform mechanical testing, verification, qualification, and validation activities supporting engineering and manufacturing objectives.\nAnalyze engineering data, test results, inspection findings, and manufacturing information to identify trends and recommend solutions.\nSupport root cause investigations, engineering changes, corrective actions, and design improvement initiatives.\nCollaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and operations teams to support mechanical engineering activities.\nDevelop engineering drawings, 3D models, technical reports, design documentation, bills of materials, and engineering change documentation supporting engineering decisions.\nParticipate in design reviews, engineering investigations, manufacturing reviews, and product development activities.\nMaintain engineering documentation, design records, configuration-controlled technical data, and product documentation.\nApply mechanical engineering methodologies, engineering standards, company procedures, and customer requirements throughout product development.\nRecommend improvements that enhance product performance, manufacturability, reliability, quality, and engineering effectiveness.\nJOB REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS\nBachelor of Science (BS) or Master of Science (MS) degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university or institution. \nMinimum of 2 years of industry experience in design and analysis of electronics packaging, including thermal, vibration, and stress dynamics or in spacecraft structures and mechanisms.\nFamiliarity with electronics assemblies and experience working closely with electrical engineers. \nExperience with professional mechanical and FEA CAD tools, such as Solidworks Simulation. \nExperience with CNC manufacturing. \nExperience with EMI/EMC mitigation techniques. \nExcellent written and verbal communication
