Trains on and operates survey equipment such as total stations, GPS equipment, data collectors, automatic levels, and scanners.\nLearns or performs research of previous survey evidence, maps, deeds, physical evidence, and other records to obtain data needed for surveys including courthouse and utility information.\nAssists with construction surveys for roads, bridges, buildings, subdivisions, and other properties.\nAssists with boundary and topographic surveys.\nLearn to read maps, plans, and stake-out sheets support of survey tasks.\nEnsure measurements are accurate by using proper field techniques.\nLearns to record data electronically and handwritten according to the CESO Land Surveying Manual.\nRecords routine work data (e.g., miles driven; daily reports).\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nPosition Requirements\nHigh school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.\n6 months or more of survey related field experience/training is preferred.\nMust have a valid driver's license. \nOSHA 10 Hour Construction and/or Safe Land Certification preferred, or to be obtained upon hire.\nFirst Aid & CPR certification is preferred.\nComputer skills necessary to enter daily timesheet data and use Microsoft Outlook for email correspondence. \nBasic knowledge and understanding to coordinate Geometry Programs, download of data from data collector to appropriate project file folders. \nLocal and regional travel as needed\nPhysical Demands and Work Environment\nThe characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. An employee may be exposed to poisonous and/or thorny vegetation, snakes and stinging insects. \nAbility to communicate effectively in a work environment that has a noise level that varies between moderate to loud. \nAbility to travel as needed, which may include occasional overnight stays. Must be available to work overtime as required.
