{"id":3693207,"url":"https://alion.io/job/cfao-ehs-manager","title":"EHS Manager","company":{"id":3913310,"name":"CFAO","domain":"cfao.com","url":"https://alion.io/company/cfao-2","size_band":null,"is_staffing_agency":false,"employer_type":"direct","is_intermediary":false,"listed_via":null,"ats_vendor":null,"truth_index":null},"role":"Industrial Engineering","role_family":"Industrial Engineering","seniority":null,"employment_type":"full_time","work_mode":"on_site","remote_scope":null,"remote_scope_basis":null,"remote_working_hours":null,"hiring_geo_confidence":"structured","locations":["Thika, Kenya"],"countries":["KE"],"hiring_countries":[],"hiring_countries_total":0,"salary":null,"salary_estimate":null,"experience_years_min":null,"visa_sponsorship":false,"relocation_package":false,"has_equity":false,"technologies":[],"status":"live","first_seen_at":"2026-11-03T13:45:55Z","employer_posted_date":null,"last_verified_at":"2026-11-03T13:45:55Z","board_verified":false,"closed_at":null,"days_open":0,"trust":{"level":"not_scored","repost_count":null,"flags":[],"days_open":0},"description":"JOB PURPOSE \n\nThis role is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining EHS programs that ensure a safe, compliant and sustainable working environment at KVM as derived from CFAO HQ and ESA EHS Representative, as well as with the relevant local and international occupational and environmental safety guidelines.\n\nThe Incumbent will play a critical role in fostering a safety first culture at KVM.\n\nMAIN RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB \n\nManagerial/Supervisory Responsibilities\n\n Develop safe working procedures relating to activities with significant safety risks in order to prevent the risks.\n\n Create and maintain a program for Environmental management system (ISO 14001) certification and continuous environmental performance.\n\n Prepare the annual EHS budget and monitor utilisation to support efficiency in cost management.\n\n Organise and participate in statutory EHS & Environmental audits by Government Agencies and Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance (LRQA) to ensure full compliance.\n\n Manage KVM safety activities e.g. Weekly/Quarterly safety meetings and inspections for enhanced awareness and compliance with CFAO Group safety guidelines and laws.\n\n Maintain effective working relationships with the EHS suppliers, Government regulatory agencies and the Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance (LRQA), to ensure group companies receive the support they require in the delivery of service.\n\n Develop and Implement the Emergency Safety Management Plan and ensure a robust line of escalation exists.\n\n Provide a single business focus for accident and incident reporting and assist with subsequent investigation process; provide trend analysis to company and Senior Management to support and provide focus for driving positive behaviours and culture; and ensure proper record management of the occurrences.\n\n Develop and operationalise a management system to ensure that HSE integration in core business systems across the group.\n\n Liaise with CFAO HQ and ESA EHS Representative to ensure KVM compliance.\n\n Act as a champion for safety culture. Mentor employees at all levels and drive employee engagements in safety initiatives.\n\nOperational Responsibilities\n\n Design and implement a comprehensive EHS training program including onboarding new hires.\n\n Lead the facility emergency response team, including coordinating fire drills, evacuation plans and medical emergency preparedness.\n\n Manage the proficiency driving tests to ensure all staff with access to Company vehicles are fully competent to drive, to minimise on accidents. Provide final authorisation for issuance of Anzen cards.\n\n Lead the development and execution of site specific EHS policies, procedures and training programs to mitigate operational risks.\n\n Incidents investigation. Investigate all workplace accidents, near misses and environmental incidents.
