Operating within a fast-paced, technology-driven insurance environment, you will help ensure that our approach to financial crime risk remains robust, effective and aligned with evolving regulatory expectations.\nAs a key subject matter expert within the second-line Compliance function, you will provide pragmatic and commercially focused guidance to stakeholders across CFC Underwriting and other Group entities. You will oversee the implementation and ongoing effectiveness of financial crime policies, procedures and controls, helping the business identify, manage and mitigate financial crime risks while supporting sustainable growth.\nWorking closely with senior leaders, the wider Governance team and colleagues across the organisation, you will influence decision-making, drive best practice and help ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements.\nAbout the role\n Key responsibilities\n\nYour responsibilities will include but are not limited to:\nProvide pragmatic, commercially minded financial crime advice to the business.\nSupport the MLRO, including screening and analysis of internal SARs and advice on onward disclosures.\nOversee the Group’s sanctions screening solution and approve escalations of screening alerts.\nAnalyse complex sanctions cases across UK, EU, US, Canadian and Australian regimes.\nSupport and oversee investigations into suspected financial crime incidents/breaches (including fraud), escalating findings and recommendations as needed.\nReview broker additional commission arrangements.\nHorizon scan for financial crime-related developments and communicate key changes at relevant governance forums.\nDevelop, enhance and maintain financial crime policies, procedures, guidance and the wider framework, including completion of the annual Financial Crime Risk Assessment.\nDeliver internal/external reporting and strengthen MI, KPIs and KRIs (including monthly frozen funds reporting).\nDesign and deliver tailored financial crime and sanctions training and communications; coach junior colleagues.\nManage workload proactively and collaborate with UK and international Compliance colleagues as needed.\nAbout you\nTo be considered for this opportunity you must have strong second line compliance experience (up to 8 years) in the UK insurance market (e.g Lloyd’s managing agent / Cover holder or UK company market insurer). Other experience needed:\nExtensive knowledge of international financial crime regulation and expectations for insurers (especially sanctions)\nExcellent communication and report-writing skills, with strong attention to detail.\nComfortable working autonomously at pace, using sound judgement and discretion.\nStrong stakeholder management skills and the ability to explain complex topics clearly.\nExperience working with delegated authorities, including understanding of binding authority agreements.\nCore Values\nLove what you do:\nWe show up each day ready to take on the world.
