Payroll accounting is also a core part of the role, including accounting oversight of payroll and general oversight of the payroll team. As a growing company expanding into new international markets, we need a versatile, hands-on team member who can act as a utility player, picking up new projects, including M&A integrations and purchase accounting, and helping wherever the accounting team needs support. The Accounting Manager reports to the Controller.\nKey Responsibilities\nManage the month-end close process, including the preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules.\nOversee intercompany transfer pricing calculations and the preparation and recording of related intercompany billings, ensuring accuracy and consistency with established policies.\nManage the intercompany close process, including reconciling intercompany balances, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring intercompany activity is eliminated accurately and on time.\nOversee the accounting and general ledger recording of payroll, including reviewing payroll-related journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and account activity for accuracy, completeness, and appropriate classification.\nProvide day-to-day guidance, review, and oversight to accounting team members, helping ensure work is completed accurately, completely, and on time.\nOversee the accounts payable and expense reimbursement processes, including the timely resolution of issues and maintenance of appropriate controls.\nMaintain and review cash flow forecasting to support effective financial planning and decision-making.\nProvide general oversight of the payroll team to confirm payroll activities are completed accurately and timely, while promptly identifying and escalating errors, missed deadlines, or control concerns.\nThis role does not process payroll and is not responsible for payroll tax calculations, deposits, filings, returns, or related compliance activities.\nOversee the organization's fixed assets, ensuring proper accounting, depreciation, reconciliation, and asset tracking.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to prepare accurate and timely financial reports and resolve accounting matters.\nCoordinate with the payroll team and other stakeholders to obtain the information needed for period-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.\nMonitor financial controls, reporting processes, and compliance with applicable accounting standards; recommend and implement process improvements where appropriate.\nSupport external audits by coordinating requests, reviewing supporting documentation, and helping ensure timely and complete responses.\nDocument and maintain business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls and promote consistent execution.\nSupport the company's international expansion by helping with accounting needs in new countries, such as new entity setup, multi-currency accounting, and local reporting requirements, and take on special projects and new areas of work as the business grows.\nPlay a key role in M&A activity, including integrating acquired entities into the company's accounting processes and systems and assisting with purchase accounting, including opening balance sheet entries and related analysis.\nWhat you must have\nThorough knowledge of general financial accounting, month-end close, account reconciliations, intercompany accounting, and internal controls.\nAbility to review payroll-related accounting and general ledger activity without responsibility for payroll processing or payroll tax compliance.\nNice to have\nBachelor's degree in accounting or finance.\nAt least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including experience reviewing the work of others or leading accounting processes.\nPrior experience with payroll accounting, payroll journal entries, and payroll-related account reconciliations preferred.\nPublic accounting experience preferred.\nExperience with M&A integrations or purchase accounting is a plus.\nExperience with general ledger systems and Microsoft Office, including strong Excel skills.\nWho
