This role works closely with operations, maintenance, and leadership to ensure compliance with applicable OSHA, EPA, and local regulatory requirements while promoting a proactive safety culture through employee engagement, risk reduction, and continuous improvement. The EHS Coordinator serves as a visible safety leader by conducting routine inspections, supporting investigations, coordinating safety training, maintaining regulatory records, and assisting with the implementation of corporate EHS initiatives.\nResponsibilities\nRegulatory Compliance:\nAssist in maintaining compliance with applicable OSHA regulations (29 CFR 1910), EPA requirements, and applicable state/local regulations.\nSupport compliance with company EHS policies, standards, and procedures.\nMaintain required environmental, health, and safety documentation.\nAssist during regulatory inspections and internal audits.\nMonitor compliance with permits and reporting requirements.\nRisk Assessment\nConduct routine facility safety inspections.\nComplete Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).\nPerform Equipment Safety Risk Assessments (ESRAs).\nIdentify hazards and recommend corrective actions.\nTrack corrective actions through completion.\nSupport Management of Change (MOC) activities.\nIncident Management\nRespond to workplace incidents.\nConduct investigations utilizing root cause analysis.\nDevelop corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).\nMaintain OSHA injury records (300, 300A, 301).\nTrack leading and lagging safety metrics.\nTraining\nCoordinate and deliver employee training including:\nNew hire orientation\nAnnual required safety training\nRefresher training\nToolbox talks\nSafety awareness campaigns\nContractor orientations\nEnvironmental Responsibilities\nSupport environmental compliance activities including:\nWaste management\nHazardous waste accumulation areas\nUniversal waste management\nSpill prevention\nStormwater inspections (if applicable)\nAir emissions documentation\nRecycling initiatives\nSustainability projects\nSafety Engagement\nConduct daily floor walks.\nCoach employees on safe work practices.\nFacilitate safety observations.\nParticipate in safety committee meetings.\nPromote employee involvement in safety initiatives.\nAssist with recognition programs.\nAuditing & Inspections\nConduct or coordinate:\nWeekly safety inspections\nMachine guarding audits\nLOTO audits\nPPE assessments\nFire extinguisher inspections\nEyewash inspections\nEmergency lighting inspections\nFirst aid supply inspections\nHousekeeping audits\nPowered industrial truck observations\nQualifications\nEducation\nRequired: Associate’s degree in occupational safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or related field\nPreferred: Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related discipline\nExperience\nRequired: 1-3 years of Environmental, Health & Safety experience in manufacturing, distribution, or industrial operations.\nPhysical Requirements\nFrequently walk manufacturing and warehouse floors.\nStand for extended periods.\nLift up to 40 pounds occasionally.\nClimb stairs and ladders.\nWear required PPE.\nWork in varying temperatures and industrial environments.\nPreferred Behavioral Traits\nThe ideal candidate is a highly visible, hands-on safety professional who spends significant time on the production floor coaching employees, identifying hazards before incidents occur, and building positive relationships with operations.
