This position is responsible for electrical system design and support throughout the product lifecycle, including concept development, prototyping, testing, production launch, and sustaining engineering.\nWorking closely with Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Sales, and suppliers, the Electrical Engineer develops practical, reliable, and cost-effective electrical solutions that meet customer expectations while supporting manufacturability, product quality, and regulatory compliance. This role requires a hands-on engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges both in the engineering lab and on the manufacturing floor.\nKey Results Areas\nDesign, develop, and maintain electrical systems for commercial foodservice equipment, including heating circuits, temperature controls, wiring harnesses, sensors, and power distribution components. \nSupport products throughout the complete development lifecycle from concept and prototype through validation, production release, and continuous improvement. \nDevelop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, bills of materials, and engineering documentation utilizing SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and PDM. \nCollaborate with Design Engineering to integrate electrical and mechanical systems into robust, manufacturable product designs. \nCreate and maintenance technical documentation updates while maintaining engineering standards and configuration control.\nLead and support product validation, performance testing, reliability testing, and root cause failure analysis. \nWork closely with Manufacturing to troubleshoot production issues, support pilot builds, improve assembly processes, and implement design improvements that enhance manufacturability and quality. \nPartner with Supply Chain and suppliers to evaluate electrical components, resolve technical issues, qualify new components, and support cost reduction initiatives. \nEnsure products comply with applicable regulatory and safety requirements including UL, NSF, CSA, ETL, and DOE standards. \nProvide technical support to Quality, Tech Service, Sales, and other cross-functional teams to resolve field issues and improve product performance. \nTravel occasionally to suppliers, manufacturing partners, customers, or industry events as required. \nEducation / Experience\nBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline required. \nMinimum of 5-7 years of experience designing electrical systems for commercial equipment, industrial products, appliances, or other electromechanical products. \nExperience supporting products through the complete product development lifecycle, from concept through production. \nExperience working in a manufacturing environment with responsibility for production support and continuous improvement. \nExperience with electrical testing, troubleshooting, validation, and failure analysis. \nExperience working with regulatory certification agencies and applicable safety standards is preferred.\nAbout Piper Products\nPiper Products, a division of CFS Brands, is a leading manufacturer of high-quality foodservice equipment serving the healthcare, education, hospitality, convenience store, and commercial foodservice industries.
