This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements while helping build a strong safety culture that protects employees, supports operations, and reduces risk.\nThe EHS Specialist partners closely with operations, maintenance, engineering, and site leadership to integrate safety into daily work. This role provides hands-on support in risk identification, hazard control, training, and incident management.\nThis position is site-based in Savannah, GA.\nEssential Job Functions:\nSafety Leadership & Culture\nSupport execution of the site’s safety strategy and prevention-focused initiatives.\nParticipate in Gemba walks, safety committees, and employee engagement activities.\nAssist in identifying hazards, evaluating risk, and implementing corrective actions.\nCoach supervisors and employees on safety expectations and safe work practices.\nPromote employee ownership of safety and proactive hazard reporting.\nRegulatory Compliance\nSupport compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and applicable state and local regulations.\nMaintain required safety documentation including OSHA logs, training records, and SDS management.\nAssist with internal audits, inspections, and corrective action tracking.\nSupport regulatory inspections and ensure follow-up actions are completed.\nIncident Management\nParticipate in incident investigations using root cause analysis methods.\nAssist with development and tracking of corrective and preventive actions.\nMonitor incident, near miss, and observation trends.\nSupport communication of incident learnings and prevention strategies.\nTraining & Competency\nDeliver and support safety training including Lockout/Tagout, Hazard Communication, PPE, Emergency Response, and other required programs.\nSupport onboarding safety training for new employees.\nAssist in verifying training completion and competency.\nRisk and Hazard Management\nConduct job safety analyses (JSA) and risk assessments.\nPerform safety inspections and program audits (LOTO, machine guarding, contractor safety, etc.).\nSupport safety reviews for new equipment, process changes, and operational improvements.\nIdentify risk reduction opportunities and recommend solutions.\nEnvironmental Compliance\nSupport environmental compliance programs including waste management, chemical handling, and reporting requirements.\nMaintain environmental records and documentation.\nAssist with environmental monitoring and compliance activities.\nMetrics & Reporting\nTrack safety performance metrics and support reporting to site leadership and EHS Director.\nAssist with data analysis to identify trends and improvement opportunities.\nTrack corrective actions to closure.\n\nEducation/Experience/Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).\n2+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing, distribution, or industrial operations.\nWorking knowledge of OSHA regulations and general industry safety practices.\nExperience supporting audits, inspections, and incident investigations\nStrong leadership presence in operational environments\nAbility to work directly with frontline employees and supervisors\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills\nComfortable addressing unsafe conditions and behaviors\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and drive follow-through.\n\nAbout CFS Brands:\nHeadquarters located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, CFS BRANDS is a market-leading designer, manufacturer and distributor of commercial foodservice, healthcare, and industrial hygiene products.\nCFS Brands is committed to creating an inclusive work environment with a diverse workforce.
