Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, examining, reviewing, and compiling of financial statements, managing general ledger accounts, reporting on internal financial controls, and other general accounting issues. May be responsible for management of a staff, or may manage a specialty area within the accounting function. Coordinate maintenance of computer programs such as booking system, accounting system, etc. In this job, you will:\nAll job duties may or may not be performed by all job incumbents, may vary dependent on assigned department.\nOversee the operations of the accounting department; including formulation and changes of accounting practices, accurate reporting, control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures.\nEnsure timely and complete month end closing, financial reporting, account reconciliation, review of financial statements, forecasting, monitoring budgets, and maintains fixed assets.\nMonitor, maintain, and revise financial internal control program.\nPrepare and coordinate financial statements with related corporate entities.\nAct as the primary liaison with external auditors.\nMay coordinate and monitor annual budget(s).\nMay review and approve credit applications and limits.\nMay be responsible for property taxes, sales taxes, and commodity grain assessment remittances.\nMay prepare Standard Reinsurance Agreement (SRA) exhibits of compensation, administrative expenses and adjusting expenses; may prepare required statutory reporting.\nMay maintain tax, discount and premium codes and tables.\nMay oversee staffing and job development activities (hiring, training, employee performance management, promotions, corrective actions, terminations, etc.); develop, communicate, and manage individual staff performance expectations that align with company goals.\nOther duties as assigned.\nHere’s what you’ll need to be considered:\nEducation\nRequired - Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.\nExperience\nRequired - 5 years’ accounting experience.\nPreferred - Industry specific experience.\nLicense/Certification\nPreferred - CPA\n Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nSubstantial knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).\nSubstantial knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; strong use of database and spreadsheet applications (Excel).\nSubstantial knowledge of the theory and practice of accounting (i.e. fixed assets, receivables, cash processes, internal revenue code, tax, reconciliation, financial statements, and processes).\nSubstantial knowledge of accounting and financial software programs, and automated data processing systems/programs (depending on area of assignment).\nKnowledge of forecasting, statistical modeling; including variance analysis.\nBasic knowledge of sales and use tax (depending on area of assignment).\nEffective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of people within and outside the organization.\nStrong analytical skills with ability to interpret data and present findings.\nStrong organizational and prioritization skills, with ability to remain flexible to changing priorities.\nStrong attention to detail.\nAbility to quickly and efficiently respond to rapidly changing environment; including interpretations of FASB rulings.\nAbility to establish, monitor, and revise internal controls.\nAbility to prepare clear and concise oral and written reports.\nAbility to work effectively both autonomously and within a team environment.\nAbility to effectively manage and coach subordinates, including ability to communicate regarding performance.\nHere’s additional information you need to know:\nPhysical Demands & Requirements\nSedentary work.
