This job performs a wide variety of duties that are based on the daily needs of the operation which may include unloading and loading trucks, pumping, resetting covers, fiberglass repairs and using wash hoses when needed for cleaning, etc.\nIn this job, you will:\nJob Responsibilities\nThis list is meant to be representative, not exhaustive nor imply that these are the only duties to be performed by the incumbent in this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.\nActual responsibilities will vary depending on daily needs and type of facility.\nFully participate in the company Safety Program and attend daily pre-shift meetings. \nPerform all duties within compliance of OSHA, company safety, and environmental regulations (ISO where applicable); including wearing appropriate PPE for task being performed. \nPerform deckhand responsibilities e.g., opening, closing, removing and placement of lids, etc. \nOperate a skid loader as needed and includes cleaning of heavy cargo barges when required.\nPerform clean-up of barge once unload is completed by sweeping and/or shoveling. \nPerform the loading and unloading of trucks to specifications, where applicable. \nComplete documentation timely, accurately and legibly. \nOther duties as assigned, including assisting in the general housekeeping of entire work area. \nReport any injuries, accidents, or unsafe conditions to your supervisor immediately.\nOperate electric tools, not limited to drills, grinders, saw, hoist, etc.\nAssist with facility maintenance.\nHere's what you will need to be considered:\nEducation\nRequired - High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent combination of education and experience.\nExperience\nRequired - None.\nPreferred - 1 years’ experience working in an industrial environment with a dependable work record.\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nBasic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).\nEffective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of people within and outside the organization.\nAbility to complete documentation requirements.\nAble to follow direction and to use logical thought process to interpret oral and written instructions and troubleshoot problems.\nAbility to work well both independently and within a team environment.\nAbility to use tools appropriate for assigned task.\nAbility to remain focused on exceptional customer service, both internally and externally.\nEmployees located in Louisiana must have reliable transportation to get to and from work sites; work site location will depend on business needs and will typically be in the following parish(es): Ascension Parish, Jefferson Parish, Plaquemines Parish, Orleans Parish, St. Charles Parish, St. James Parish, St. John the Baptist Parish, West Baton Rouge Parish.\nHere's additional information you need to know:\nPhysical Demands & Requirements\nAbility to lift/push/pull 45 lbs. occasionally.\nAbility to climb, crawl, stoop, kneel and balance.\nAbility to safely walk and work on barge surface(s) and around barge rigging with ability to work around deep water.\nAbility to open gates.\nAbility to understand and communicate verbally, in person and over two-way radio.\nAbility to work outside in extreme weather conditions.\nAbility to climb ladders and perform work at significant heights.\nAble to perform work in confined spaces.\nAbility to work in an environment with high dust levels around grain and other bulk products.\nAbility to meet requirements of PFT and fit testing, when applicable.\nAbility to meet requirement of and utilize all applicable PPE, when applicable.\nAbility to work extended hours, weekend, holidays and/or alternate shifts as needed.\nAbility to multitask.\nMust agree to take and pass drug screen, physical and agility test\nUses peripheral vision and depth perception for tasks being performed.\nEnvironmental Conditions\nThe work environment described here are meant to be representative of those an employee would normally encounter while performing the essential functions of this job.\nThe physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
