We’re looking to bring onboard a Senior Software Engineer with deep PostgreSQL and Java Spring Boot experience who executes high-impact projects and is excited about building at a significant scale!\nIn this role, you’ll:\nOwn and improve our data ingest Java service for enriched transfers generation and aggregations.\n\nDesign and tune PostgreSQL transaction batching, indexing, and replication strategies.\n\nContribute to the next-generation architecture. The team is evaluating a wide stack of cutting edge technologies. You will run PoCs, benchmark latency, and write ADRs and contribute to delivering the next generation to PROD.\n\nBuild and maintain scalable API services on AWS that handle thousands of requests per second\n\nHelp automate network onboarding end-to-end.\n\nDebug production issues across microservices, define SLOs, and participate in the on-call rotation\n\nIntegrate LLM-based tools into daily engineering work and build agentic automation for operational tasks: automated incident triage, self-healing pipelines, and intelligent alerting\n\nWe’re looking for candidates who have:\n8+ years with PostgreSQL in production: schema design, query optimization, partitioning, replication, and performance tuning under write-heavy, high-throughput workloads\n\n8+ years building Java Spring Boot services: REST APIs, JDBC, connection pooling, and JVM performance profiling\n\nExperience with Kafka or equivalent streaming systems: consumer groups, offset management, and partition lag debugging\n\nTrack record operating distributed systems on AWS: microservices, multi-silo deployments, Terraform\n\nStrong cross-system debugging skills: tracing a serving delay from a Datadog metric to a Humio log to a code path\n\nComfort with AI-assisted development and agentic engineering practices\n\nA bias to ship and iterate alongside product and design partners\n\nA genuine excitement for significantly scaling large data systems\n\nTechnologies\nCore (experience required):\nPostgreSQL\n\nJava Spring\n\nKafka\n\nExpected familiarity:\nAWS\n\nKubernetes\n\nTerraform\n\nPython\n\nGithub including Github Actions\n\nDataDog\n\nHumio\n\nPagerDuty\n\nNice to have\nDatabase migration experience (evaluating and cutting over between storage systems)\n\nFlink, Spark, or lakehouse formats (Delta Lake, Iceberg, Parquet)\n\nKubernetes operations (StatefulSets, HelmReleases, stateful workloads)\n\nMentoring engineers and driving technical decisions through RFCs/ADRs\n\nInterest in the cryptocurrency\n\nAI at Chainalysis\nAI is not a feature at Chainalysis - it is a new way of working.
