This includes but is not limited to middleware that serves as the foundation for myQ residential and commercial platforms. To accomplish this the Lead Software Engineer will work with other developers as well as other functions such as Engineering, Product Ownership, Marketing, Quality Assurance, Operations, and Customer Service in order to understand and translate product requirements into technical requirements, verify development matches product owner expectations, as well as maintain a high quality code base.\nWork using Agile methodologies such as Scrum to develop middleware\n\nServe as primary point person and scrum team representative for interactions with product owner, front end, middleware, DeVos, and firmware functional teams\n\nParticipate in technical assessment, scoping and management of changes to the code-base on new business requirements, product enhancements and other change requests\n\nAnalyze requirements, collaborate with architects and senior engineers to produce thoughtful software designs of moderate scope and complexity\n\nMaintain domain specific software knowledge of key software application features, frameworks, or components in myQ middleware\n\nLead and contribute to technical discussions in community of practice, design review, pull request, or other technical meeting forums\n\nCollaborate with other Chamberlain domain experts, such as infrastructure, database, and front end, as the team develops features and platform enhancements\n\nLead offshore teams to design and develop features, and burn down technical debt\n\nEnsure adherence to coding standards and other best practices to create reusable code\n\nProvide mentoring and coaching to junior engineers to increase software capability of the middleware development team\n\nResponsible for complying with the security requirements set forth by the Information Security team and the established ISO 27001 Security Roles, Responsibilities, and Authorities Document found in the ISMS Document Library\n\nComply with health and safety guidelines and rules; managers should also ensure compliance across their teams.\n\nProtect Chamberlain Group’s reputation by keeping information confidential.\n\nMaintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reading professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.\n\nContribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed.\n\nJob Requirements:\nBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, related technical field or equivalent practical experience\n\nAn advanced degree in directly applicable area of study may substitute for up to two (2) years of job related experience\n\n5+ years of job-related experience as defined in the Essential Duties and Responsibilities\n\nDeep understanding of Agile methodologies and Scrum is required\n\nExperience in creating technical documentation is required\n\nExperience with Microsoft technology stack, including .NET, C#, Azure, SQL, Visual Studio\n\nExperience with GIT, No SQL databases, messaging systems\n\nExperience in creating technical documentation\n\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\nThorough understanding of OOP, SOLID, RESTful services, dependency injection and cloud development\n\nAbility to work well with others and provide clear direction to a development team\n\nStrong analytical and problem solving skills\n\nUnderstanding of CI/CD (continuous integration/continuous delivery) tools, frameworks and deployment processes is required\n\nAbility to interface with Product Owners and Scrum Masters for ticket/issue management\n\nAbility to lead junior and senior engineers on projects\n\nAbility to debug, troubleshoot, and self-diagnose issues in software development\n\nAbility to estimate work, support project plan creation, and report out progress to functional management at a project level\n\nThe pay range for this position is $85,500.00 - $162,975.00; base pay offered may vary depending on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. In addition to base pay, also offered is a comprehensive benefits package and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
