As an Access Services Coordinator, you’ll keep it running and make it feel welcoming when students need it most: evenings and weekends.\nChamplain College is hiring part-time Access Services Coordinators to supervise library circulation services in the Miller Information Commons - a multi-use facility that houses the library, Student Success Center, computer lab, maker space, study rooms, and classrooms. In this role, you'll oversee facility operations, manage circulation systems, lead student employees, and carry out projects that keep the library running smoothly. This position is filled by 6-8 individuals concurrently, and flexibility with scheduling is required.\nThe ideal candidate brings strong customer service instincts, comfort with technology, and a genuine interest in mentoring student employees. You'll serve as a front-line resource for the Champlain community - answering questions, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the space is welcoming and well-managed.\nKey Responsibilities\nCirculation & Facility Management\nProvide library circulation services and serve as a point of contact for questions about the library, circulation policies, and the college\nOpen and close the Miller Information Commons facility, oversee the space during shifts, and troubleshoot technology-related issues\nEnforce library policies for patrons and student workers\nStudent Employee Supervision\nSupervise, schedule, and train student workers in library procedures, policies, customer service, and library technologies\nFoster a library environment that is welcoming and accessible to all, and mentor student employees in an equity-centered approach to customer service\nProject Coordination\nManage ongoing library projects such as collection weeding, book shifting, inventory, shelf reading, and multimedia initiatives\nCoordinate project timelines and student project teams to ensure successful completion\nMaintain and edit library information in a dynamic wiki\nAdditional Library Services\nMay coordinate and process course reserves with faculty to ensure timely availability\nMay contribute to interlibrary loan services and assist with library programming and events as needed\nRequirementsBachelor's degree with 2-4 years of customer service and supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience\nDemonstrated ability to work independently in a position of responsibility\nStrong computer skills and technology aptitude, with the ability to quickly learn new systems and troubleshoot software and hardware issues\nExperience with common applications such as Google Workspace and Microsoft 365\nExcellent oral and written communication skills with exceptional interpersonal and customer service abilities\nAptitude and passion for mentoring young adults with a variety of needs and backgrounds\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and proactively address emerging needs in a fast-paced environment\n Working ArrangementsPart-time position (5-20 hours/week, 3 days/week, 12 months/year) based at our main campus in Burlington, Vermont\nShifts are scheduled primarily during the following windows, with flexibility required:Sunday-Thursday evenings, 5:00-10:00 PM\nFriday evenings, 5:00-8:00 PM\nSaturdays, 11:00-4:00 PM\nSunday afternoons, 12:00-5:00 PM\n\nExtended hours may apply during peak periods; occasional weekday morning shifts are also possible\nWork is performed in a library environment; requires standing, walking, sitting, bending, and occasional lifting up to 30 pounds\nMay involve working in occasionally dusty environments\nCompensation & Benefits\nHourly Rate: $17.83\n Retirement: Eligible to contribute to the 403(b) plan\n Other Perks: Employee Assistance Program (EAP) with counseling services, access to employee discounts and local/national benefit programs\nApplication Instructions:\nTo apply, please follow the link below and submit the following application materials:\nResume/CV\nCover Letter addressing the desired qualifications and how your experiences contribute to the academic excellence and inclusive community at Champlain College.\nThe College seeks candidates who can enhance its mission through their work, life experiences, service, teaching, or research.
