This role is hands-on, detail-oriented, and suited to someone who knows their way around formwork, framing, finishing, and everything in between.\nYou’ll work closely with the site superintendent, interpret drawings and specifications accurately, and complete tasks safely and efficiently. If you’re someone who shows up prepared, communicates well, and can adapt to changing site needs, you’ll fit right in.\nInterpret drawings, specifications, building codes, and direction from the superintendent\nLay foundations, plan task sequences, and carry out all carpentry-related activities\nEstimate and select materials required for tasks to ensure adequate supply\nPrepare framing for concrete, mix and pour cement, and build/remove structural formwork\nPerform internal and external structural repairs\nConstruct stairs, framework, and other structural components using proper tools and fastening systems\nSet up scaffolding and work safely at heights\nOperate and maintain carpentry tools and equipment\nMaintain daily task logs and support preventative maintenance schedules\nCollaborate with the superintendent and follow established quality control systems\nAdhere to all safety policies, procedures, and regulations\n Minimum requirements:\n Journeyperson Carpenter Certificate (Red Seal preferred; willingness to obtain Red Seal required)\nRegistered 1st-4th year Apprentice Carpenters\nActively working in the trade with strong knowledge of construction practices and safety protocols\nProficiency in blueprint reading, layout, and materials estimation\nCompetency with hand and power tools, and safe work procedures\nSiteReadyBC (preferred)\nWHMIS 2015 (required)\nFirst Aid/CPR (preferred)\nStrong mathematical and analytical skills\nAbility to work effectively with minimal supervision\nClear communication with superintendent, crew, and other stakeholders\nAdaptability and solid time-management skills\nWilling and able to work out of town\nNice to Have\nExperience with a large general contractor\nConcrete and formwork experience\nValid driver’s licence and clean abstract\nCertifications such as Fall Protection, Elevating Work Platforms, or other site-related tickets\nAdditional Requirements\nAs part of the recruitment process, selected candidates may be required to complete a pre-employment physical assessment to confirm ability to perform the essential functions of the role safely.\n Chandos is an equal opportunity employer and we are committed to a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture and this includes our recruitment and hiring process.\nWe recognize that our differences are our greatest strengths.
