ABOUT THE ROLE IN BOUTIQUE

As the leader of the boutique, theBoutique Sales Manager is responsible for the overall success of the boutique by ensuring excellence in commercial performance, team leadership, client experience, and operational execution. This role combines leadership of the sales team with oversight of boutique operations, guaranteeing an elevated client experience, efficient back-office management, strong team engagement, and compliance with CHANEL standards and procedures.

As a true ambassador of Style and Brand Image, the Boutique Sales & Operations Manager develops team potential, drives business performance, and ensures operational excellence while contributing to making CHANEL the ultimate reference in luxury.

WHAT IMPACT YOU CAN CREATE AT CHANEL

Team Leadership & People Management

  • Lead the recruitment, selection, and onboarding process for the boutique team, including 5 Fashion Advisors and 1 Stockist, ensuring alignment with CHANEL standards and culture.
  • Ensure the team’s understanding and execution of the House strategy.
  • Coach and develop the boutique team to elevate style expertise, operational discipline, and client experience.
  • Conduct regular follow-up meetings, performance reviews, and development discussions with team members.
  • Identify development areas and implement action plans, including training and coaching programs.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture based on motivation, accountability, and knowledge sharing.
  • Organize and conduct team briefings and morning meetings.
  • Act as the main point of contact for boutique leadership, ensuring alignment with regional and Head Office priorities and objectives.

Business & Commercial Performance

  • Lead the development and implementation of the boutique business strategy.
  • Monitor sales performance and support achievement of commercial objectives.
  • Analyze business and product performance to make recommendations related to assortment, sell-through, and inventory optimization.
  • Support boutique buying activities while respecting budget guidelines and the “One Boutique, One Story” vision.
  • Set up action plans aimed at driving boutique performance and client development.
  • Ensure strong visibility and presentation of product categories in partnership with Visual Merchandising.
  • Deliver regular business and operational reports to regional leadership and Head Office.
  • Ensure compliance with boutique procedures, policies, and CHANEL standards.

Client Experience & Brand Ambassador

  • Ensure consistent delivery of an exceptional client experience aligned with CHANEL standards.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships while supporting client events and boutique activations.
  • Support the sales floor as needed and lead by example in client interactions.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve client experience and boutique efficiency.
  • Embody CHANEL’s values and act as an ambassador of the House at all times.
  • Use CHANEL Brand Image as a filter in decision-making.

Boutique Operations & Administration

  • Oversee all back-office operations and administrative processes to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
  • Supervise cash handling procedures, daily reconciliations, bank deposits, and reporting to Head Office.
  • Ensure accurate invoice coding, record keeping, and administrative documentation.
  • Maintain and update boutique operational procedures and manuals.
  • Act as a key user for boutique systems and operational processes.
  • Coordinate repairs, alterations, product transfers, and follow-up with local and international vendors.
  • Ensure accurate inventory management, stock organization, and preparation of cycle counts and annual inventories.
  • Maintain accurate records of merchandise movements, loans, repairs, and boutique supplies.
  • Coordinate with IT, contractors, vendors, and Head Office to support boutique operational needs.
  • Ensure back-office areas are organized, secure, and maintained according to CHANEL standards.

Fashion Division & Cross-Functional Support

  • Partner with Fashion leadership and Head Office on operational and commercial initiatives.
  • Coordinate staff uniforms, communication tools, alterations supplies, and operational materials.
  • Support Visual Merchandising coordination for orders, invoices, and boutique setup.
  • Maintain strong product knowledge and share information with the team as appropriate.

Team Spirit & Compliance

  • Collaborate effectively with boutique teams, regional teams, and Head Office.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding commercial activities and internal affairs.
  • Support organization and execution of boutique events, promotions, and inventory activities.
  • Ensure adherence to Health & Safety and Security procedures.
  • Promote a positive, supportive, and flexible work environment.

  • Fluent in English and Spanish; French is a plus.
