The role will also provide accounting and project support to operations across Benelux and Scandinavia. This position requires strong technical accounting capabilities, sound knowledge of tax and audit requirements, and the ability to work effectively in a multi-entity, cross-border environment. In this role you will interact with French-speaking teams and French-language legislation and work closely with local finance teams, regional leadership, shared services, and global functions.\nWhat impact you can create at CHANEL:\nFinancial Reporting & Compliance\nPrepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reporting packages in accordance with applicable accounting standards and group reporting requirements.\nCoordinate the preparation and submission of direct and indirect tax filings, including VAT and corporate income tax, in collaboration with internal tax specialists and external advisers.\nAct as a key contact for internal and external auditors, prepare supporting documentation, respond to audit requests, and track the timely resolution of findings.\nMaintain robust accounting controls, support process documentation, and ensure compliance with group policies and local statutory requirements.\nAccounting Operations & Financial Closing\nMaintain the general ledger, review account reconciliations, support period-end close, and ensure the integrity and completeness of financial records for the Luxembourg entity.\nReview and post payroll entries, reconcile payroll-related accounts, and coordinate with HR and payroll providers to ensure accurate accounting and statutory compliance.\nPrepare and analyse cash flow statements for both budget and actual results, investigate variances, and support liquidity planning and forecasting.\nAnalyse inventory balances, movements, provisions, and valuation; perform reconciliations and support cycle counts and year-end stock counts as required.\nPrepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, investigate aged or unusual items, and ensure timely resolution.\nProcess Improvement & Stakeholder Coordination\nProvide accounting expertise and operational support to Benelux and Scandinavian entities, including close activities, reporting, reconciliations, and issue resolution.\nContribute to finance transformation, systems implementation, process harmonisation, and other cross-functional or global projects.\nIdentify opportunities to improve reporting quality, standardise processes, strengthen controls, and increase efficiency through automation.\nWhat you will bring to the team:\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field\nSolid professional experience in Accounting and/or Finance, and ideally a minimum of 3 years of experience in retail, FMCG or luxury within an international environment\nStrong understanding of accounting principles, financial closing, reconciliations, reporting and compliance requirements\nSound judgement and a strong control mindset, with a commitment to accuracy, compliance, and meeting deadlines.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently while maintaining effective communication with local, regional, and global stakeholders\nStrong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify issues and translate financial data into clear insights.\nCollaborative and service-oriented approach, with the confidence to challenge constructively and drive issues to resolution.\nExcellent communication skills in English and French; Dutch is a plus\nAvailable fulltime and living in or around Amsterdam\nInterested?\nWe would like to receive your motivation and CV.
