Senior Group Director HR Business Partner, Core Corporate Functions
At CHANEL, we are focused on creating an inclusive culture that nurtures personal growth, contributing to collective progress. We believe the uniqueness of each individual increases the diversity, complementarity and effectiveness of our teams. We strongly encourage your application, as we value the perspective, experience and potential you could bring to CHANEL.
About the Role
CHANEL is looking for an HR Business Partner, Core Corporate Functions, to join our People & Organization team supporting Operations, Finance, Legal, and Regulatory Affairs. This role will play a leading role in shaping and delivering people strategies that enable these core corporate functions to perform at their best, while ensuring alignment with the broader Corporate P&O roadmap and global Corporate P&O strategy.
The HRBP is responsible for setting and executing the portfolio’s people priorities, stewarding progress, and reporting outcomes. As the dedicated P&O partner to these functions, the HRBP works autonomously and with authority, serving as the principal architect for workforce planning, operating model design, organizational health, talent development, succession and pipeline planning, and change implementation for the core corporate portfolio.
In this capacity, the HRBP leads the development and delivery of fit-for-purpose people strategies that anticipate business needs, address unique challenges, and drive measurable results for each supported function. While the HRBP collaborates and aligns closely with the Head of P&O, Corporate, and leverages COE expertise, they are directly accountable for the effectiveness of people strategies and outcomes within their portfolio.
What impact you can create at CHANEL:
- Own and drive the people and organization strategy for Operations, Finance, Legal, and Regulatory Affairs, ensuring each function’s people agenda is proactively shaped, implemented, and measured for impact.
- Set and steward the portfolio’s P&O roadmap, establishing priorities, defining outcomes and milestones, and reporting progress and impact to business leaders and the Head of P&O, Corporate.
- Translate global Corporate P&O strategies into the regional Core Corporate context, adapting enterprise philosophies into fit-for-purpose implementation plans.
- Lead organization and operating model design, workforce planning, and optimization to support agility, efficiency, and growth across Core Corporate Functions.
- Design and implement talent development, succession, and pipeline strategies for critical roles, ensuring each function has the right talent, in the right roles, at the right time.
- Serve as the orchestrator and business-unit interface for OD&E initiatives, including transformation programs, change management, culture evolution, and employee engagement efforts.
- Establish governance, measurement, and reporting rhythms to track progress, resolve impediments, and communicate impact.
You are energized by…
- Partnering with senior leaders to shape practical, business-led people strategies.
- Navigating complexity and ambiguity in a matrixed, evolving organization.
- Connecting workforce insights, talent priorities, organizational design, and change needs into an integrated plan.
- Collaborating across COEs, HRBP teams, PM pools, and business leaders to deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Building trust across geographically distributed teams and fostering connection across NJ and NYC locations.
- Using data and analytics to inform decisions, anticipate people implications, and measure impact.
What you will bring to the team...
- Significant experience as an HR Business Partner supporting corporate or enabling functions in a complex, matrixed organization.
- Demonstrated ability to operate as a strategic partner to senior leaders while maintaining operational rigor.
- Experience managing or partnering across multiple geographies, with a track record of building trust and presence at a distance.
- Proven ability to tailor partnership approaches in support of the Head of P&O-providing deep strategic partnership to leaders within business-driving functions, while ensuring effective stakeholder management and alignment for core corporate teams.
- Strong organizational design and operating model design capabilities, with a proven track record of optimizing for agility, efficiency, and growth.
- Strong evidence-based approach to decision making, leveraging Data & Analytics.
- Experience leading or partnering on workforce redesign for AI/human-machine collaboration initiatives.
- Proven ability to work within an operating model that leverages COEs and shared services, acting as an orchestrator rather than a generalist.
- Experience in luxury, retail, or creative industries preferred.
- A collaborative, resilient, and adaptable approach, with the ability to navigate ambiguity in an evolving operating model.
- Demonstrates leadership agility in adapting as learnings occur in the implementation of the new operating model.
